i like the angst, and the fact that at the end it was in character.

i usually don't read AU's, because im a stickler for canon.. mostly. but this was so wonderfully written. im a fan of your other stories as well, and i certainly hope you update A Need for Dates soon too. ;D

Hmm. I'm having trouble putting my thoughts into writing about this fic; it was beautiful, breathtaking, and heartbreaking. I have that warm 'happy ending' feeling swelling in my chest and at the same time a...bittersweet (not sure if that's what I'm looking for, but I think you understand) feeling along side it. I thoroughly enjoyed your story. Great job. I believe I got what I wanted to say across. =]

Words cannot begin to describe how satisfying I found this.

The word choice and style hit as jarringly as the content. Everything wove together the way it should have, and it left me feeling that, if you had ended it any other way, it would have been sacrilige.

The thoughtfulness and investigation into characters in and of itself made this worth reading. The way you used your words made it worth digging up months after I had read it initially.

Whew, that left me kind of breathless. Loved it! (I'm a sucker for dark/angsty love stories, I'll admit.) You obviously put in a lot of effort to keep Vincent and Yuffie in character and for that I can only applaud you. Also, the story was really well-written.

But. Even though I liked the basic idea of the alternating POVs, a lot of it was quite redundant, up to the point where I even found myself skipping parts. For example, in chapters 3 and 4 you describe the exact same events, while it would be much more interesting (in my humble opinion) to have Vincent and Yuffie each pick different 'highlights' from the long time they spend on the mountain. This way, the chapters will complement rather than repeat each other. Chapter 5 could (again, imho) be much improved by cutting the redundant dialogue. There's really not much need to repeat long quotes while we've already read them a minute before - it just drags the pace of the story down. Chapter 5 is very climactic and if you keep jumping back in time and repeating things, the build-up towards this climax (and the climax itself) just doesn't end up as powerful as it could be. Maybe you could just alternate POVs between scenes, rather than describe each scene from both POVs?

Anyway - just my two cents. :) I'm not *actually* expecting you to rewrite anything, since you finished this story ages ago. Also, let me stress again how much I loved it, lest you get the wrong idea and think I'm writing this review mainly to criticise you. :P

THIS IS SOAWSOME!

Wow, this was a great story. I was a little put off by some of the events towards the beginning, but mainly because my husband has not finished playing DoC, so I don't know what all and who all, etc. The style was pretty cool too, it could get a bit tedious, but it was *so* well written. By far one of the best fics I've read on here, and the best Yuffie/Vincent story that I've read. I'm sorry if this seems critical, I assure you in the most animated of language that I wholeheartedly love this story and will fave it and read it many more times!

You did a great job with the characters. I think being put in those situations, they would behave the way they did.
