As always LOVELY! I really like how 6 keeps pestering him to tell Jamie and why is it so important for this set of events to happen just this way hm. What in the world is Romana up to this time.

Such the devious lady she be when she need must. Very lovely image to go with that you posted up to LJ you realize your just feeding my addiction here :D *HUGS* Got to love that in a writer!

Our poor Doctor he does have such a dreadful time keeping those he cares about from getting hurt or killed. No wonder he is so damaged and cut off by the time he becomes 9. *Hugs her Doctors*

Wow.

Fantastically and intelligently written.

And there are so many parts I want to say "oh, this is particularly lovely!" -- so many I shan't...

AND it is both interesting and intriguing...

AND, AND, long too (but you knew that, didn't you?). I'm amazed you have kept my attention throughout (and no I don't have ADD but, well...)

I can't wait for more! Love the mystery!

WHERE'S THE TARDIS?

I remember during Peter Davison's tenure my stomach dropping when he was forced to dump many of the Tardis's extra rooms. One of my favorite stories was Tome Baker's Invasion Of Time partly because they showed so many different room while they were being chased around by the Sontarans. That showed 'the garden room' which I'm guessing was the result of Jamie's plantings. (Remember 'the bathroom'? That was an indoor full-sized swimming pool!)

The only thing that really disquiets me about the new series (besides the destruction of Gallifrey *sniffles*) is the sad state of the Tardis. I just saw the Fourth Season's opener and noticed even more 'stuff' lying around. I know this is logically considering the results of the Time War and the incredibly advanced age of the Tardis, but can't help but feeling that at this rate she isn't going to last until his thirteenth life. Hopefully, the writers will come up with an excuse to giver the old Type 40 gal a rejuvenation.

A very very sweet and soothing chapter a very nice time for the Doctor in a life filled to often with chaos. I much enjoyed the developing relationship between Verity and the Doctor as well and the comfortable ease of sharing time with each other that is developing.

*smirks* Readers should be aware that it wasn't until the new Doctor Who series that you had anything approaching ANYWHERE as steamy as this. It started as a children's show, after all. *coughs*

I wish they had done the Macra story differently. Think how much fun it would have been to have the Macra disturbed by the sound of bagpipes--especially since Ben didn't like them. *lol* We might even have been treated to just how well the Doctor was at musical instruments other than a recorder.

Going to have to go to the BBC site soon to see the actual order of the Troughton episodes. *Oh, how I particularly miss my copies of the yeti stories...sighs* Here's hoping they make more of those animated versions of the lost episodes.

I loved Verity's temper tantrum and how she was just so mad that he from her perspective was just being a brat. I also like the fact that she has enough sense not to push and in time I am sure she will realize luring a doctor is far simpler then trying to bully one. I love the Doctor's stunned reaction to Jamie's action, and his very practical outlook on the possible life expectancy of a companion as always looking forward to then next bit :) *grabs a bag a jelly babies to and sits to wait*

Are you sure The Second Doctor's eyes are golden brown? It's only that I seem to recall on the old book covers that they were blue (not that I prefer blue.)

Macra...

I'm thinking back to chapter two and wondering if they got the idea for the Christmas Bride partly on that old Troughton episode. They were going to drain the ocean into the Earth's core, where Tennant's ended up draining the Thames into the core.

I take it 'Verity' is taken from 'Verity Lambert'? Very good. I like that and this is a wonderful interpretation of why he couldn't control the TARDIS then--yet does so much better at it as he got older. This story reminded me that when Hartnell had the role, the Doctor was considered to be pretty much human. It was (presumably) h his first regeneration that brought out much more of his Gallifreyan heritage (and the Eight Doctor movie that reminded us that he did have a human genetic makeup as well.)

Giving Jamie telepathy seems a bit of a stretch to me, but hey, I'm open. It's all fiction after all. *grins*

Oh, this is wonderful! I haven't read this story since I was forced to give up my Target Doctor Who episodes book collection decades ago. (grumbles) Thank you!

The second doctor has always been my favorite, with Tennant being a close second and Tom Baker's not far back...(with a lot of love for Peterson's and Pertwee's.)

Jamie has always been my favorite human companion. Frazier and Troughton had tremdous screen charisma together. It was a shame that they both allowed others to talk them into leaving after only three seasons. Unfortunately, Jamie was not in The Three Doctors, was a mere cameo 'fake' in The Five Doctors, and...well...I'd like to forget The Two Doctors on account of dreadful production and writing.

Sigh stubborn Doctor!! Doesn't surprise me much of 2 though. He really didn't like being manipulated. Really do feel sorry for him though at all the good stuff he missed out on because he couldn't trust Verity.

Oo sound like a very interesting start. May have to dust of my book copy of the highlander though just because :) Very interesting the reactions the Doctor is having to Jamie's presense.
