Beautiful--just beautiful. This story had me up in the middle of the night, no joke. So erotic and yet so dark and touching at the same time. Raniye is mighty lucky, but then so is Mozenrath...the fact that he's inexperienced (very hott, btw) gives her the control for once, yet she's so gentle with him--and he (at least following his crazed moment of teenage lust) towards her.

Perfect pace, lovely story. :)

I decided to check this story out to get a better understanding, after reading chapter 11 of Circum.

After reading, I now have a more solid feeling of the relationship between Mozenrath and Raniye. I am glad I read it, because when I read The Height of Faith and the flashbacks, I can have a stronger sense of how deeply Moze cared about her and why he feels such regret. Though this story has a dark sense to it, I can also see romantic towards the end, it was a good read :)

The last third of this story was too steamy for me. But I did like the background info about how Moze first encountered the drug Raeven gave Jasmine. Destane deserves to be made into a Mamluck. Ugh.

Astonishing. Amazing, remarkable, incredible, marvelous. Oh my god, this is why I could never be a beta, all I can do when I come across something like this is praise it! How completely useless am I?

Raniye is an intreresting character who I am immediately beginning to like (although not as much as Jasmine). It allowed for me to see deeper into Mozenraths and hers relationship, and it was an amazing part to the other story.

~This was powerfully written, sad and filled with such darkness and beauty.

*I liked the words exchanged btw. Mozenrath and Raniye. Simple and beautiful. At least they could find a small piece of freedom from the circumstances they find themselves in.

*Destane's act in drugging Raniye is so treacherous, yet so unbearably real. There's such a vile, relentless darkness in his character that one would even be afraid to imagine if such a person existed in the world.

*The desire of freedom and salvation are so clear in this. It shows a deeper look at what it would be like to be in such dark and helpless situations.

*Raniye’s character is such a resemblance of inner strength, a strength that's so admirable.

Words cannot explain how much I love this. But for the sake of a worthy review, I will try. lol.

To start off, I love how the beginning of Raniye's tale starts off with her first day of "hell" with no way out, but in contrast at the end, she feels hope. Namely because of Mozenrath. I just love this pairing! I feel torn between M/J and M/R actually. Moz/Ran is sweet among the darkness of their slavery, yet Moz/Jas cracks me up because of their verbal battles. And of course M/J has its own dark charming allure, too.

A hearty round of applause is earned for your excellent use of detail, as always. (I probably mention detail for every review I give you, huh? That's because detail is a big deal to me. Not having too much, or too little. Just enough to drag your readers into the mysterious depths of your story.)

The line, "I have closed your womb so that you cannot conceive," really jumped at me for some reason. Maybe it's because it made me ask myself questions afterwards, like did Mozenrath do that because he was ordered to, or because he chose to? I'm probably over-analyzing it, but then again, I do that. XD

"It held the blood of a newborn, he had told her, his pleased voice faintly lined with the uncertain hope that she would accept it with delight. He saw her as a rose of utmost purity, and so he often gifted her with such evil kindnesses, adorning her with innocent deaths."

THAT creeped me out. Wow, Destane is quite the lady charmer. He lusts for a girl he names as pure and wants to impress her, so you know what he does? Kills innocence for her as a 'gift,' paying her a dark tribute. What I say to that is that Destane simply adds to the dark shade of the Land of the Black Sands. He the ruler, makes the land blacker and blacker with each life he takes, each living thing he destroys.

I absolutely *love* the music scene. It's just so, so perfect! It only added to my love for the M/R romance, even though I know it's going to go up in magical smoke soon.

Destane's date rape spell made me sick. Not in the "I have a weak stomach to these themes" sick, but the sick you get when presented with someone whom you find extremely revolting and you hope will die in the most painful way known to man.

Another scene that made me smile was this one-
“You always came for me.”

^_^ Though Mozenrath's unease cracked me up. The poor teenage boy. XD Other than that touch of humor, it was very touching. The seed of their relationship was thoroughly planted there, and began to grow.

Last but not least, Mozenrath and Raniye's romance bloomed in the final part. I was silently cheering, actually. But the finale of this oneshot was easily my favorite part. I could just feel the love. And the theme of freedom is what really did it. Raniye could finally choose who she gave herself to, and that small pleasure must have meant the world. The awaking between them made me smile. Too bad the Big Bad Molester will return instead of just dropping dead of a heat stroke in the desert. The jerk.

Anyways, I love this! No doubt I'll reread this a few more times before the day is out. :)
