Judging from what we see in the books Lily never treated Severus very well, repeatedly blaming him for things which were her own fault and treating him like dirt even though he was supposed to be ehr friend, and by the time they broke up she was just looking for an excuse to get rid of him because he wasn't cool enough to be friends with the great Lily Evans. But that doesn't mean this is out of character, because it would be just like her to tell Severus it was all his fault, and anyway he thinks it was. |
