| Emily Mae 2008-09-25 ch 1, | abuseLovely! I really liked the overall sense of serenity in this. Even though Seamus is mulling over less-than-happy memories, there's still something really peaceful about his reflection, and I like that. Good job. :] |
| Volturi-fied 2008-07-10 ch 1, | abuseTo be honest, it was the name that caught my attention, and I'm glad it did. this is a really sweet fic, with a different edge. I liked it, but ta cion orm, would have sounded better as Mo Ghra(fada on the a). Its more natural that way. Otherwise a nice touching sceal, keep it up! ^.^ |
| Prieda Solo 2008-07-07 ch 1, | abuseoh, that's beautiful. So very sad as well, but beautiful. I love the little bits of Irish you put in there, and one of my favourite poems as well. Lovely writing, great work =D |
| RubeusHagrid34 2008-05-08 ch 1, | abuseThis made me cry, it was beautiful. |
| Miriamimus 2008-05-05 ch 1, | abuseThat blessing is my absolute favourite. This was a lovely job, Seamus' memories of his mother are nice. I'll admit it was the Irish in the title that caught my eye, but it was a really nice fic. I'm sad to see she died in the battle, and maybe cousin Fergus isn't so bad after all. Well done :D. Faved. |
| ProperT 2008-04-15 ch 1, | abuseAwe, kind of sad for a bit, but it brightens by the end, giving you hope for a happy Seamus. Good One Shot. :) |
| WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot 2008-04-11 ch 1, | abuseWow! So different and so nice to see Seamus not only as the "ladies man" of Gryffindor as he is so often written. I love how you developed his backstory, and absolutely adored the inclusion of Irish blessings and dialect . . . roots this story in realism, and gives heft to Seamus' development as a character. So much of this fic is based on missed opportunities, lost loved ones, and then new life . . . such a lovely coda to the war. Great job with the challenge! |
| dancingcarrot21 2008-04-07 ch 1, | abuse[She greeted him with a warm smile and laughter like sunlight.] What a wonderful metaphor for her laughter. I really like this line. I have a real soft spot for loving mothers. :) [Seamus had the window open. It overlooked the small, grubby field behind his apartment. It wasn’t much, but it enough so that the fumes of town life didn’t get too unbearable.] This is so cute. I can just imagine a little Seamus peering outside the window for fresh air. It also signifies the yearning for peacefulness, no? I like the feelings Seamus shows afterward, as if he cannot pretend to be happy. He's tired of forcing a smile on his face. I also like having Seamus' brother having a girl being born on that day. As if, from death comes life. Giving an indication that Seamus will eventually move on. I also like the fact that Seamus had bitter birthdays before Hogwarts, and tried desparately to get away from it, until his dad died. Like he was trying to get away from his parents fighting. :( And the walk home was realistic. Most people find peaceful walks soothing for the mind. I also love this line: [Seamus reached his hand out and gently stroked the top of the gravestone. It was warm in the setting sun.] You had a few grammatical errors, but I still enjoyed the one-shot. You have wonderful idead. :) - Carrot |
| scribhneoir 2008-04-04 ch 1, | abusethis was lovely. The pace was perfect and the inclusion of the details from Seamus' life is very well done. The reveal at the end is also very well done, very powerful and hard-hitting. It's great to see such a good story from Seamus' point of view. I also like the 'Breithla Shona Dhuit'! The grammar is correct and everything! Maith thu! well done! |
| mackgirl 2008-04-01 ch 1, | abuseOh my goodness. This was so sad, and sweet also. I loved it, and I'm rambling but I did love it. |
| mustardgirl1128 2008-04-01 ch 1, | abuseOh, this was SO sad, but SO beautiful! I LOVED it! I loved how he never named "her" and we didn't know where she was till the end. Very said, very beautiful! Awesome job, I LOVED it!! |
| Painted Inkblot 2008-04-01 ch 1, | abuseIt's great to have something based on Seamus's point of view, since he is usually just an unimportant side character. THe lines in italics, about Seamus outside of Hogwarts, were just beautiful and full of feeling. Nice surprise at the end, that his mother and Fergus's daughter had the same birthday and name. |
| Bad Mum 2008-04-01 ch 1, | abuseOh, that was just lovely. I really like the looking back over past birthdays, and the way you kept us hanging on for a while to find out why he was sad. The baby being born that day was just right. Great job. |
| SaltwaterPearl 2008-04-01 ch 1, | abuseThat was wonderful to read. You captured Seamus's grief beautifully , yet there was a feeling of hope and healing with Niamh's birth. Gorgeous. |
| JenniferJ89 2008-04-01 ch 1, | abuseThat was so good, Elle! Really well written and absolutely beautiful description. Jenny |
