Judging from the number of reviews, this fic is utterly underappreciated. This piece is absolutely wonderful. It's very rare to come up with a friendship fic with this depth. It's also hard to come up with an Yzak-centric fic without a way of insulting the guy.

I love how you described Yzak's "innate" anger, strife for perfection and his icy demeanor, and most specially how you've spun this into an enthralling character development through the channel of Nicol's death.

What I also like about this is that it's a tear-jerker without trying too hard. Some fics tend to be too dramatic and lead one to cry, and we forget what the writer really intends to communicate. It's sad, yes. But I won't go around saying, "Oh, it made me cry so much!" I'd say, "You know, LiQuYu wrote this fic on Yzak, about Nicol's death and his friends, lemme tell you about it..."

It's a very beautifully written piece. Congratulations.

The last quarter of the story is really emotionally-charge.The way that you've described the whole scene,movements and feelings,create a melancholic mood in the reader and made them almost feel Yzak's emotion (or is it just me,coz Im an ardent Yzak fangirl :P);even more with the ending with Nicol's appearance.Rather than friendship,I think the story focuses more on the theme of seeking forgiveness,thou friendship is also a strong element in it.
One cute little part:Yzak learning to play the piano on his own sounds so funny ^^
