Wow. Just wow. This was so powerful and well-written. I like that Sam eventually became happy again instead of being sad forever. Now, don't get me wrong- I love those angsty fics. But this is a refreshing change of pace. This story is going on my favorites, and I hope that you write more stories because I'd love to see them.

wow...this is amazingly written and very powerful. i can't believe that its done, you should expand it so that carly and sam find each other. there are too many unanswered questions between the 2. it would be nice to see their friendship rekindled. as much as i hate freddie in this fic he should do it for carly. these are just suggestions, by no means am i telling you to do them. this fic is great on its own!

Well, for starts, I'll say that this is very well written, both technically and structurally. And that's really a pleasant surprise these days, especially considering how young you are (that's not an insult; I just took a look at your profile and realized that you're about the same age as my oldest daughter!)

Unfortunately, most of the authors I've seen lately seem to have learned their spelling and grammar in chat rooms rather than classrooms, and the result has been a large and continuing decline in story quality/readability over the last decade or so; I'm very glad that you don't seem to be falling prey to this trend.

So far as the storyline itself, I was impressed with that as well. I know your profile says that you're only 15 years old, but are you sure? A lot of what you wrote there reflected insights that I wouldn't expect from someone who hasn't actually been through those kinds of events (my 20th class reunion is only a couple of years away and there are some old friends that I haven't seen or spoken to since we graduated).

One theme I especially see standing out there is missed opportunities. I think all of us have some regrets over things like that, situations in our past where we wish we'd just opened our mouths and said something before it was too late, and I think you've captured that very well.

Also, a couple of other things that I liked about this story; as Carly found out at the end, sometimes it's just too late to correct a past mistake, especially if it involved taking someone else for granted. Things like that tend to have a 'window of opportunity' and if you don't do anything in that time it really might be too late.

The other thing I liked was that Sam eventually found a way to move on. Too many of these kinds of stories end with the typical angsty out of a suicide or a fatal accident that invariably hits home to the 'bad guys' (in this case Carly and Freddie) that they should've treated their friend better or paid more attention to them.

This story did have a bit of a tragic ending, but it was much more realistic, and thus (to me at least) had much more emotional impact. But along with the tragedy, mostly on Carly's side, I saw some hope as well; it looked like Sam was finally able to move on even if it took her years to reach that point mentally. Unfortunately from experience, I can say that that's often the way of it.

So anyway, overall a very good effort, and by all means keep cranking these things out; I think you'll find no shortage of readers here and the only way to grow as a writer is both go write and to accept constructive criticism.
