Actually, I thought this story was a realistic portrayal of a person mourning the loss of a loved one and wanting revenge.
The way you presented the contrasting perspectives of the cross was beautifully written, one could imagine God weeping at Dracula's twisted view of His sacrifice and the true meaning of faith. This story really emphasizes the narrow teachings of the church at the time this scene would have taken place.
I love how even in the midst of his pain, you showed Dracula's love for his bride, very powerful.
This is a beautiful poignant tale.
Excellent work.

*crying freely* You succeeded perfectly with this one, Thyme. I felt the depths of his despair, I felt the anger, the anguish, the darkness of his soul...the Angel in Hell. *sniffs* It was truly beautiful.

(By sheer coincidence, I ended up listening to "Chop Suey" by System of a Down while reading this, and it fit perfectly.)

Wow...Dark. Yeah that would sum up Dracula pretty much. I think that it is so sad that he believed she would be in Hell, I mean because honestly you really don't know. The Bible says that a sin is a sin. To murder and to lie are both sins and they do not have levels of wrong, just like good deeds you know.

I go to a Baptist church, but honestly I am of no demonation. I do not believe that God would send a person to hell for taking their own life. I believe that love for the Lord and acceptance of his son is required not good works or being perfect. I actually have had much experience with sucide either with friends or my own trys (many years ago).

I think that is why this story puts on such a new level to me...it is like I don't believe she was in Hell and therefore he cursed the Lord and effectively himself for nothing. It is sad.

I think that is why I like the story of Dracula so much. It makes you question theology, love, life, and sacrifice. You really capture these themes my friend. Thanks so much.
