This is probably one of the best stories of any genre I've read on here - it is so true to the film, it's unbelievable. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!

Excellent story! I finally got to the very end of it.

Your writing was simple and easy to follow. There were a few minor discrepancies, but those are easily fixed with experience.

I'm amazed at how easily this plot flowed. Everything you added worked flawlessly with the movie. I especially loved the concept of Father's Firstborn. Your references to the movie worked into the story perfectly, and as a huge fan of the movie, I was glad to see them.

So thank you for making this a great fic!

Finally...there is finally a great Equilibrium story written! I loved the attention to detail and the emotion you've conveyed in the characters, especially in Preston. The plot is also well thought out and succinct.

this is definitely one of the best fanfics i've read in years. i was completely enthralled in it from the first chapter. i read it in like fifteen minutes, couldn't stop. you completely nailed the character of john preston and the others from the movie, and your original characters were also very compelling. beautifully done. my hat is off to you.

eh. WHY havn't more people reviewed this. But then i suppose not many people knoe of the movie itself. But anyhow, this was awesome! the characterisation and plotswere absolutely believable. i hadn't even thought that a few clerics may have rebelled. But it completely makes sense that they wouldn't be able to live with themeselves, their emotions.

Well I just spent the better part of two hours that I should have been sleeping reading your story. It is wonderful. Your writing is impeccable - it is rare in this land of fan fiction to read really good writing. The story itself was very well thought out and I liked the ending. Your original characters were fresh and interesting and necessary to the story and I have to say that you nailed Preston perfectly. I could picture the whole thing playing out in my head like a movie, but the writing was book-worthy. The one character that I would have liked to see developed further was Herald. I am a sucker for bad guys and what motivates them and the one question that I was left with was why would he lie to Preston about killing Robbie and Lisa? Was he just a sadist who wanted to torture John or was he really planning on killing them - in short, what was he planning to gain? Not really a critique, more just my curiosity about your character. I hope that you are using this talent daily, if not for money then for love because it is obvious that you love it.

This was REALLY GOOD! I love this story! You kept so true to the characters and their personalities did not change a bit from those in the movie! This story is so beautiful!

That was quite honestly the best fanfic I've ever read--and jeez, you even managed to finish it properly, that's almost unheard of with the really good fics. I only have one criticism--there were parts where you went a little overboard with outright description of appearences, usually with John, though sometimes with Mary. (Though Mary's is understandable, because it's John noticing her--but no one's looking at John.)
There were too many things I really liked about it to mention them all--but I'd just like to say, I especially enjoyed the scene with Herald and Preston, where Herald says that the world they're rebuilding is "a prize that's nothing but carnival glass." that was really well done. Great job, thanks so much for writing this fic.

Okay, I haven't finished the story yet, but I had to comment now, just in case you kill Mary off or something. Or John. Either would be bad.
This story is JUST what I needed right after I watched the movie--pity i didn't know about it then. I just felt like there was so much more to explore, and so many things that could have gone wrong, and of course, I was ** that Mary was dead, even though it did provide a necessary kickstart for Preston. Anyway, I'll write another review when I finish--for now I jsut have to go keep reading...
