Pretty good, for a plot bunny. A lot of people, myself included, have played this continuation fic angle... but you wrote it well, which is to be applauded. I especially liked "Footsteps. So slight against the foliage of the forest floor that he wondered if he truly had heard anything besides his own imagination. He couldn’t bear waiting any longer and he stood, turning."
I don't know why, but I could just feel that whole phrase. Good work :)
