Oh, my gosh. I'm usually a Remus/Tonks fan, but this made my ache for him and Lily. I think my heart was crying a little bit. And James was perfect. He really was. I don't begrudge him Lily, even though your piece made me want her with Remus. When James saw Lily dancing in the shadows on the ceiling, that was just James. Just another corner of his obsession. But when Remus sees her too...shivers. Congratulations, you moved me! Loved it a lot! Running off now to see what else you've written...

I loved the way you portrayed the character's emotions. Poor Remus.

I love that James' thoughts were presented in such tumultuous prose - you carried the character off beautifully. As always, there's a lovely sense of layering here - emotions particularly - and it ties the narrative together nicely. I love that you stressed Lily said yes to James /for/ James (it's my usual line of reasoning too so I agree 100%) and I love that Remus knows (as usual) that it's all his fault. Remus is a very humbling influence, and he's the standout here, because no one writes him quite like you!
