Ahh this is absolutely one of my favorite scenarios ever! I love it when Ed misses out on a relationship because he wouldn't dare go after anyone Al is going after too. And then he's all adorable and angsty and miserable and WHEE. I love this so much. X3 ...Why did I not see this sooner?! Awesome read, anyway! Lovelovelove~.

i wander if the mentioned girl could have been Winry? i think it's that line "Who could Ed possibly have looked at, and immediately concluded that he was in any way inferior to them?" that makes me think that. Ed wouldn't want to compete with Al over something like Winry. i think he'd feel like he should let him be happy after all the things that have happened.

that was absolutly beautiful. It was so sad, the whole tone of Ed not being able to move on while everyone else is living their lives. But so damn believable.
And the part about the girl he loved- Winry, right?- god, that was heart breaking. The way Al kept asking, and the way you never even seemed to hint at who it was but I figured it out anyway made me feel smart, even though I'm sure that's what you meant for the reader to pick up the whole time. : D That's right, i've figured it out. Your master plan. the way you keep getting us to read your stories! You make us feel inteala-intelli- intela- smart. And we keep coming back for that (since we don't get it anywhere else) Aha! It of course has nothing to do with your absolutly brilliant writing skills! : )
