... a couple things... first and foremost, this was wonderful because you effectively had absolutely EVERYONE there, give or take a few, I didn't see Akako for example and I didn't see Saguru or Makoto, but I'm not really complaining, you definitely had almost everyone there, and the Kid's reactions (internal monologue) was absolutely wonderful. It was not only very much him, but just the way everyone interacted, and the way things kept going from bad to worse... I almost felt guilty while I was laughing about it. To be honest, I think the only way that this could possibly be better would be if there was also another part, where we got to see the conversation between Kid and either Kudo (because I think that Kudo might know who Kid is, but I'm not certain, and Saguru once he found out, considering his attraction to Aoko... plus of course if everyone else happened to remember this when he finally 'fesses up to being Kid... that would be absolutely wonderful to watch. Please note, I'm not saying that you have to write that or anything, I've got friends on this sight who are always stressed out because they feel guilty for not updating their stories at the rate their fans want, so I do my best to never give people the impression that I'm putting that kind of pressure on them, but the very idea of those conversations is wonderful, and so I have to thank you creating this fic simply so my imagination can fill in the rest. Now, onto something you mentioned in your authors note, about the English manga, I've been looking at the wikipedia pages on Case Closed/Detective Conan and Magical Thief Kaito a lot recently, because I was into the series, then I drifted away and I'm trying to get back into it... I'm getting distracted by a tangent and stopping that now before it gets out of hand. As I was saying, I've been looking at the wikipedia pages a lot recently, and there it mentioned that the manga is using variations with the English anime's first names and the Japanese last names, I think that this is because the English manga came out after the English anime, and the anime was all trying to Americanize the series, because it's stupid and they always do that (Pokemon being the most extreme example of this that comes to mind, after maybe One Piece), and the manga tends to be more honest, but it still wants to maintain the continuity and make it clear that yes, this is the manga for the anime, so they reached the sort of halfway point between keeping things as close to the original as possible and keeping to the English anime. If it makes things any better, all the characters other than the main characters should have their original Japanese names. Really, the people I feel sorry for would be the people making the manga, they didn't come up with the stupid Americanization of the anime, and they're doing the best they can (the other people that I'd feel sorry for would be people like me who were only recently introduced to anything outside the Americanized anime, I keep thinking of Kudo as Jimmy, dang it!)... Either way, this was awesome, and if you really can't stand the English names that much, then try reading the translations at , at least that way you can see how things differ between the anime and the manga. I've ranted and gone way too long, I apologize and once again repeat myself: this was absolutely awesome and wonderful. I really liked it a lot.

gotta agree about the dub names. back when i watched the anime on adult swim, i didn't really notice the names, but when i got back into the manga a few months ago (thanks to scans), i could never watch the dub or read the english manga ever again. when i had to rent the manga from the library, i replaced every single dub name in my mind. poor Heiji really did get the worse name of all of them, though.

It was hilarious, really, I completely laugh with your story. Poor Kaito it couldn't get worst for him. About the names is always better to stick with the real ones, I mean Harley is such a stupid name.
