| Windjammers 2008-05-06 ch 1, | abuseI love how you wrote of her memories of the castle and her past. It's reminiscent of that scene in Gone With The Wind when Scarlett was so eager to escape to Tara after Atlanta was burned, and she was expecting to see the pristine white walls of her home as the sun rose. Instead, even though the house was still standing, it was dark and broken from the destructive forces of the invading army. I can "see" Mina remembering what used to be and then seeing what was only to want it all the more. I've often wondered what would have happened in that scene if Vlad had managed to get to the castle before they did. What if Jonathan and the others had fallen behind? What if Vlad was waiting for Mina inside the castle? What if he had come to greet her and had dealt with Van Helsing himself or if he had accompanied the brides when they were taunting Van Helsing? What if Mina had escaped Van Helsing and made it into the castle before anyone realized it? |
