love it
Tani-san 12/18/06 . chapter 1
My dearest darlingest authoress,

I write this not as a review (though, while we're here, this is a bloody BRILLIANT fanfic), but rather, in an effort of supplication. Please, please, PLEASE do not leave me hanging. I have spent the past two weeks (when not doing homework) reading your fanfics, and I am now to understand that there is no more? That this is the end? I reject this possibility as too cruel to be the case. In the name of all that is holy, well written, and slightly naughty, send me some hint that you are in fact still alive. That maybe, just maybe, there will be more of "A Parliament of Monsters."

I remain hopelessly yours,

Tani

Oh k, here we go, three days straight of reading it and I'm finally finished! So like, long review yay! Obviously, I love it, I love how it incorporates many of the features of season six,and yet ends on a completely different note. I felt realy stupid when I finally realised the first was the first, but I also thought it was really smart that to begin with you just had a voice in Willow's head which we all assumed was just crazy ol' Willow. Anya speaking to Xander when he was in hospital was spot on, and got his character down to a tee. Dawn likewise was perfect, I could see everything she did in my head. Vampire Willow was great, because ever since the offer in the dormroom, I've wondered how that would have turned out. And I adored the possibilities of how B/S's relationship could end.

TO CONCLUDE- awesome

omg omg I was going to review at the end of the 37th chapter but OMG you referenced to "The princess Bride" which is SO AWESOME and don't you think Spike would totally have watched it? OF course you do, duh, you wouldn't have put it in other wise oh i love you.
Speaker-to-Customers 11/4/04 . chapter 37
Unquestionably one of the all-time greats. Intriguing plotline, wonderful characterisation, sparkling dialogue, expert handling of fight scenes; this is as good as it gets.
sklmnt 3/1/04 . chapter 37
First thisng first... how come I never stumbled onto your stories? (my fault, mainly) Youre stories are awesome as in really, super awesome with that sparkly golden crown...and I don't know where I'm actually headed here.
You write the best S/B fics out there and... I'm speechless. Your'e works are lovely and... You probably know what I'm about to say :D
Escape Velocity 8/3/03 . chapter 37
Oh my wow. This is definitely one of the best peieces of fanfiction I have read, not to mention Buffy fics.

Firstly it has a sterling plot that weaves in *all* the characters as well as appendages (CoW). I love how the plot develops, thickens, climaxes, anticlimaxes and leaves me wanting more at the end. I definitely get a sense of continuity, what with the whole Willow/ vampire thing (an intriguing twist), Xander's possible disability (which I can only describe as grr! arrgh! But wholly appropriate) and the whole Council business. I can only hope for more...

Secondly your characterisation is astounding; true to the show, yet you manage to make them evolve and lead them in a different direction to S6 (thankyou thankyouthankyou) in a manner true to the actual character. Your original characters are fantastic as well; realistic and witty and...real, dammit!

The whole tone is bittersweet, laced with tragedy and humour at every turn. A winning and ultimately beautiful combination

Let's see - a good ending, without being an easy ending; a gold standard of characterization for each and every character; an incredible plot, resolved in a satisfying manner; dialogue that is as good as the best canon writing, that you can *hear* the characters speak in your mind...

It's all here, people.

Thank you Barb, for writing and sharing this wonderful, wonderful story.
aphelant 5/5/03 . chapter 36
I am waiting very IMpatiently for the next chapter, Barb! I want more, now! Btw, I love your series, ARitS was great, and NE is, in my opinion, even better. I hope you continue once this is finished!
Sue 4/28/03 . chapter 35
Barb,

This is the most well-written piece of B/S fanfiction on the net. I am speechless (and I am never speechless.) I can only guess that the (relatively) small number of reviews, given the superior quality of the piece, is because many of us read/follow it at your personal website or on other forums. I just pity the readers who have found you yet.

I don't normally review, but I really enjoyed this and hope you update soon!
Bigsciencybrain 3/11/03 . chapter 1
I really can't even begin to list the reasons why I love this story and your work in general. Every turn of phrase, every detail, every plot twist, just everything.
Elena Zovatto 3/6/03 . chapter 34
To Barb: love the Faith and Buffy interaction. Perfect Spike, as usual. I'd been waiting for this chapter for a long time. The formatting seemed weird though - may have been a technical glitch.

To Chris:

Have you even *read* this story in its entirety, or is this just a gut reaction against people who don't agree with you? Perhaps some idiot who happens to be B/S friendly flamed you for no reason, so you thought you'd strike back?

Some petty vengeance is the only reason I can some up with for such a puerile, whinging review for such an extraordinarily well-written work. I am not a B/X fan, but I have never flamed a B/X story. If a story is exceptionally good, I tell the author so, no matter what the pairing is.

If someone's done you wrong, I offer my sympathies, but tarring everyone with the same brush in retaliation is truly immature.
NeilG 3/6/03 . chapter 34
How dare you try to make Angel an Arsenal fan, he isnt intelegent nor cool enough to be a gu-nner. Other than that little enfraction superlative as always.
Volpa 2/26/03 . chapter 33
I've been following this story from the beginning on your own site, so I thought I should leave you a review. I love this fic; stories this good make me bitter about the direction the show is actually taking.

Your ear for dialogue is wonderful, and you really have a finger on the pulse of the characters. I think that your rendering of Spike is particularly spot-on.

Thanks for much enjoyment!
