Defying.Expectations 2008-04-24 . chapter 1I really enjoyed that. I could definitely see Mrs. Lovett singing something like that, and as I was reading, I put the words to a sort of soft piano melody -- similar to Wait, but a little different. I don't know why, but it seemed to fit. ^.^
The only thing that stuck out as odd to me was this line:
Won’t you forget
your Lucy
she’s gone…
Dead, and gone.
If Mrs. Lovett had ever actually said that Lucy was dead, then her argument at the end of the play (". . . said she took a poison, she did, never said that she died . . .") wouldn't be valid. Granted, Todd is only half-listening to her here, but still, if Mrs. Lovett says she never lied, then she probably never lied (she may twist the truth quite a bit though). Anyway, apart from that, I really liked it, thanks for a nice read. :) |

this is really good and sweet, although kinda sad, too! the lyrics tied in perfectly with mrs. lovett's character and personality!
great job!
looking forward to more from you! =D |
