Good story. I liked the characterization, and the plot. I also liked how they met in laundry, and shared bits about themselves, though it was more John speaking than anything, however that is understandable due to meeting Jeannie.

I also liked how Rodney helped John get over his father a little bit.

Wow, that was really amazing. I love how you had Rodney being protective in a way only Rodney could. He was slightly put out by having to wash the blood from John's back, or having to touch his sweaty arm, yet he did not hesitate to do just that. And his wanting to know more about John, but not feeling right in taking advantage of John's weakened state. Brilliant writing. Every word of this believable. I truly enjoyed it.

I particularly liked: "His pale, sweaty skin and red-rimmed and blood-shot eyes made the look all the more unsettling, and despite Sheppard's painfully obvious weakness, Rodney – for a moment – actually thought him quite capable of kicking some **."

This was truly touching. I love how you made Rodney so...um Rodney. He does seem to run off at the mouth without filtering anything, but you can see it in his eyes that he is thinking about what he said afterwards. Nice job on Sheppard's past and his regrets.

Awesome! I just happened to be listening to the soundtrack for Gladiator and it actually went pretty well with this. Great job!

I especially love John/Rodney friendship pieces and this was EXCELLENT! I loved John revealing little snippets of his life and Rodney being afraid to take advantage of John's openess when he was injured and hurting. I also loved the way Rodney took care of him and went after him during the raid. And John bringing Rodney cake - that was sweet (no pun intended).

Love this: The conversation was taking a personal turn, and he was finding it surreal. Not once since meeting him had Sheppard ever opened up so easily, not without catching himself at the last minute to get the shutters to slam closed before anything else was said.

Such a great story line. What happened to Sheppard was really brutal but in stark contrast was the care and tender concern of Rodney looking out for his friend. I just loved the way you portrayed these two in this desperate situation, allowing us in this horrendous place the opportunity to see a part of Sheppard long kept hidden. His utter vulnerability was so very well portrayed.
