i like this story. I have to agree with you, aragorn is described like that. It is as if he were a robot or something!

I think your idea is marvelous. I agree that Aragorn probably has some fear about what is going on. He says this in Fellowship when he talks to Elrond about not wanting the responsibility of the sword.

Loved it so far. I have an ideal though have Boromir see Aragorn's fear and have Boromir comfrot him then vise versa

then have Gandalf comfrot both of them.

Like it _ I've been looking around for LotR fics that aren't just based on the movie (not that there's anything wrong with that) and I'm glad to have found this one. I agree that this is the sort of thing I wanted to see in the books once in a while... I remember reading it over and realizing that I never noticed how Aragorn really goes through a period of low self-esteem and just general angst after they leave Lothlorien and the Fellowship breaks. This fic made me happy _ Gandalf felt very in-character to me. I fear I wouldn't be able to write him well. Bravo _

Very cool! interesting views on Aragorn's weaknesses, no one writes about those! though I think since he's 87 and has worked for all 87 years alone and in battle and yes, sometimes in groups, he may not be too soft, but I like it anyway! :) very cool! is the courage quote from the princess diaries? well who cares if it is, its a good quote!

This is really good, not to mention touching. I always thought Aragorn's hardness was simply walls built around him so he could carry around without showing the fear he felt. Only one lil nitpick, Aragorn wouldn't know what 'Hell' is since it didn't exist in Middle-Earth. Nuttin big- keep up the good work!
