I really liked this story a lot! Bill and Karen are my favorite. They will make great parents to these kids!

That was so...COOL!

“The always-in-control director suddenly felt very out of control.” That’s so Bill.

Wow, Karen’s critical! Shot twice! Collapsed lung! Internal injuries. I wasn’t expecting ANY of this. This is really good, tense, exciting stuff, J’sG! And I love the idea of radicals wanting to return Russia’s royalty to power. Such a fresh, intelligent storyline, and the execution is just superb. You have me wondering, now, if Karen’s gonna end up getting killed off –- like the way the show, itself, leaves one wondering. (God, I’m really missing the show. Feels like it’s been off the air forever.)

As an aside, I thought it was terrific to make Jack the commissioner. I like the idea of him going into a completely separate line of work, yet one that still naturally connects him to CTU. I also liked that you added Jacob to the family. Making him an FBI computer forensics specialist in Washington lays the foundation for creating an interesting multi-level relationship between him and Bill. I hope you do something with that.

OMG, this is exciting as hell! That was a really tense, tense scene with Karen getting carjacked. I really appreciate how you think through the details, like why she didn’t have a gun on her: “Almost thirty years later, she was at a distinct disadvantage having not practiced any hand-to-hand combat in years. Worse yet, she wasn’t armed.” Taking the time to insert little explanations like that, in my opinion, goes far in making the action and overall story much more credible and enjoyable than when an author leaves it up to me to fill in the blanks. I can also easily see Karen handling herself in precisely that manner, and going through the thought process you created. Very nice job keeping her totally in character.

Bombing the church to interrupt the foreign adoption. “They are the closest surviving relatives of Tsar Nicholas II. They are Romanovs.” I’m loving this plot. Plus, I thought you did a superb job in this section:

“It all seemed to be happening in slow motion and Karen felt as if she were watching it on a movie screen. She could hear herself begging the men to let go of Nikolai and Anya. The children were both fighting to get away; flailing and kicking in a futile attempt to extricate themselves. They were calling her name and imploring her to help them. She was trying to get away from her captor; trying to stand up and get to the children when she felt it. It was a searing pain in her chest that seemed to take all of the air out of her. It was followed by a second and this time she heard the gunshot.”

I felt like I was watching it in slow-mo, too. Very well done, woman.

Wow, you’ve been busy lately, woman!

You write such great Bill/Chloe. The interplay is always so excellent coming from you. On the show, I love how Bill always seems about two minutes away from murdering her and your dialogue always capture that exceptionally well. (I’d love to see you write a one-chapter quickie of Bill and Chloe trapped in an elevator, with him at his wit’s end.)

Neato story happening here! A great vehicle, too, in terms of getting a look at what Bill and Karen would be like as parents! Very inventive, J'sG. I’m onto chapter two. You've got me hooked.

Yay! A happy ending! :D I loved the way this ended. I had a feeling a while ago that Bill and Karen were going to end up with Nikolai and Anya, but I was glad to see Bill struggle with it. It made it much more realistic. Still, I was happy that they all did end up together. What a cute ending to a fantastic story, as always with you! I hope you plan to write more Bill/Karen stories with these characters. I'd love to see Nikolai and Anya a little older and see how all of the Buchanans have adapted to their new life. Awesome, awesome story!

Only 4 chapters?!?!? This is such a good story and I'm really surprised you can do so much with just Karen and Bill and not a lot of Jack since most fanfics are centered around Jack. I remember your story with Jen and I loved that one too but I guess it didn't get that many reviews b/c most people are hesitant to read any fanfics that center around characters other than Jack or perhaps Chloe and Audrey. But you managed to get a huge following with Karen and Bill. Its really different how it was settled pretty easily with a roadblock but it makes this more realistic than the actual show! I still can't believe Bill is going to be a father all over again especially with kids THAT young! Anya was adorable in the story.

I understand how immportant reviews are :) If you have the time please read and review my stories...I have 2 so far, one's a 24 episode season (a second one will be posted once this is done) and another is a softer story much like yours :)

Aw I loved it. It was exciting and touching and well-written as always. I was so glad that Karen slowly but surely recovered from her injuries and managed to rag Bill about Anya and Nikolai. I also liked that Jack was the one trying to calm Bill down and get him to be patient. I’d like to see them switch positions on the show a little bit. Thankfully Bill found the kids, and they all survived unscathed. The ending was very sweet but still realistic. I really enjoyed reading this!

Great story so far. Love the relationship between Bill & Elise, and Karen giving Bill information before the surgery. I'm waiting for some "Jack action"!

Such a stressful and sad chapter- I loved it! I hope that Bill, Jack, and crew find the bad guys fast and that Karen recovers. Bill trying to investigate and stay in control while dealing with Karen’s injuries and the kids’ abduction seems very like him. I’ve really enjoyed reading this so far and hope to see more soon. Keep up the great work!
