Nice story! Gosh, there are so many fics where things unfold differently for Bella and Edward... but eventually, somehow, some way they end up together. It is interesting to read a truly different outcome. Reminds me of "Mommy's Letter," which is one of the first fanfics I read and adored.

Your story is really well done. The conversation is surprising in a way for how honest and open it is, and for how unemotional it is, but I think that is how it is at funerals. Something monumental and incontrovertible has happened and it's a time for speaking from the heart and acknowledging what is.

oh my gosh, this is one of the best au stories i've read in awhile! i discovered you on pel's site, and was thrilled to see you had a bigger profile here. it's clear you are very talented, and i hope to see more from you in the future.

Wow, that was depressing, yet entirely honest. I'm team Jacob, yet not at the same time. I'm all for these alternative endings and this was probably the best AE I've read. It was truthful to both sides of the spectrum. I do believe that if Renesme hadn't been born, then only Bella's death could bring Edward and Jacob together, and in ways that I never really wanted to explore.
Thank you for writing this. It was beautiful and touching and I appreciate the sentiment that Bella is to both Jacob and Edward at the end. A symbol of commitment and also indecision.
