abuseWell, good, Roarke is prepared, and he knows now that Haruko is involved. Still and all, she'll need Roarke's help to accomplish everything...

Okay, here we go, he's recieved the summons and away we go!

'Miraculous' lol...yup, he's performed some miracles all right. Good way to get on his good side, at least.

Oh, Nyah is the queen now...

LOL at her face about the low-quality variety of seaweed...truly a princess! Hey, this is the Princess and the Pauper, isn't it? ROFL!

A fantasy! I can just picture the surprise on Roarke's face...

They are both very eager, ready to part with the $68.00 and a fine Japanese pearl necklace...

Hm, I hope Haruko doesn't run into a kappa while she's exploring the depths...

Hahahah! I don't think he's going to resist their entreaties...LOL

Yes, Roarke could insist, since her father does work for him...but I think that, after he talks with her parents, and they get over their shock, it will work out in the end.

Yeah, I knew they didn't think it through. Perhaps they will wind up being with each other for a week--Haruko spends a week in mermaid form with Akima in the ocean, and then Akima spends a week in human for with Haruko going to school and babysitting. Very neat idea, if that is how it works out. In fact, since obviously they wouldn't advertise the fact that Akima is a merperson, they could pass her off as an exchange student...well, maybe as a visiting student from a distant country, and perhaps this will help her improve her Social Studies grade.

A cool idea for a weekend with each other; then Akima could babysit the trips along with Haruko (and of course that means Prince Christian and Princess Leslie could interact with Princess Akima on very informal basis).

Heck yes, I couldn't fight off sharks and kappas by myself either! This is a VERY good idea! And nice of him to extend things long enough for her to spend a day in school...that is, a human school, since she spends much time in her family school underwater...

Yup, Akima will be in a bit of trouble with Nyah, when her mom finds out...but, on the other hand, at least she will have had an important learning experience that some humans are okay. And her father will appreciate that she had the chance to walk... I'm sure he's happier now, but he probably misses walking on dry land every once in a great while.

Ah, he doesn't clarify whether he changed himself or others when he says "I've made the change from human to mermaid and back again; it's a simple thing to do the reverse." I mean, I know he allowed Nyah to become temporarily human, and changed Akima's father the whole way. I would still like to know if he changed HIMSELF. Or perhaps he will change himself for part of the duration of the fantasy while Haruko is a merperson and keep an eye on her (at least, for the usual 'pop in on the person' scene...I remember when Roarke spoke with the three female astronauts who went to the moon by overriding the NASA (?) communications channel...

"Maybe we'll just eat kappas" LOL another great line!

Hooray! The kids can do it! Well, I think Akima is probably about the equivalent of 14, though she is probably about twice as old by the human calendar...

Oh, Chikako wants to be a mermaid too...LOL

I expected Roarke to know that the girls will not really find the grass greener in each other's world. However, he is certainly aware both will take a lot from this experience and that it will likely be an important lesson for the rest of their lives (and I don't mean 'be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it').

Groovy chapter and I can't wait to see the rest!

abuseLOL Haruko had a very interesting dream... Well, another FI youngster dreams of being royalty... At least Haruko won't be the problem that Janine was!

Ah, the summons has arrived...and doubtless, Roarke is awakened by it as well...

LOL... I am hungry, sleep well my friend. Amusing dialect...

Yeah, I was right, Roarke did wake up. He'll be there next time around, I believe...probably with potion in hand. (Unless you have a lot more chapters to write, and then he'll agree to the fantasy and it will start later than in two nights.)

LOL...Christian Enstad, cradle-robber! Heheh...I don't think so!

Smart...I understand about the problems with sports, and it makes sense to transfer that energy into intellectual pursuits. And since all the kids from the island group come here (at least for high school, I'm sure there are elementary and middle schools on Coral Island and the island that is frequented by tornadoes so the younger students don't have the long commute; indeed, some of the students from the farther islands probably stay on FI during the week because they live too far from the high school...) However, there are some sports facilities on the islands--well, at least one, for that baseball fantasy from the first season when Tommy Lasorda brought some major league All-Stars for some exhibitions; that baseball stadium is probably over on Coral Island for the military personnel to play on and occasionally host service teams from around the world (and the occasional major or minor league or college or national team).

A typical day in the life of a royal? Yup, that's Christian's question, all right! LOL

Oh yeah, I remember Crown Prince Peter from the first season...at least, I think I've got that right. Dack Rambo, right?

A little less glamorous than the fairy tales, indeed! But he and Leslie are leading their own fairy tale lives...

Oh cool, another small country reference. Ya know...I think the small countries that Lilla Jordso is friends with probably have sister-city relations with each other, at least for the capitals like Arcolos and Santi Arcuros.

ROFLMAO! Prince Edward's wife was LOADED! HEHEHEHEHEHE! Of course, I had a different perspective than her being wealthy, or carrying lots of weapons...I was thinking of her being very drunk...LOL

Shoot...poor Haruko, she definitely wants to share the secret with SOMEBODY!

Ah, good, she at least sort of talked to them...and yup, Leslie will bring Roarke into it right away! Can't wait to see the conversations between Roarke and Leslie, and Leslie and Christian, in the next chapter! I don't think we'll even get to Haruko's next meeting with Akima in the next chapter, you've got too much to discuss now! LOL!

abuseOh, this is interesting...I pictured Amberville closer to the eastern edge of the island, but more in the center and not along the coast. So, I pictured the Main House and the seaplane dock at the southern edge; then the Ring Road ran up the eastern shore past the pineapple plantation and the docks for the plantation and the ferry towards Coral Island (and the others) and the place where Brian and Lauren hydrofoil from (as well as the fishing village where that one tough lady from Leslie's high school is the bouncer in a bar), then the road cruised up towards the north where the Enclave was (I didn't even know it had a marina!), and then around the western side of the island (which I perceived as pretty much undeveloped). I pictured another road running north from the Main House past the casino, hotel, bed and breakfast, bungalows, Amberville and thence running north up to the Enclave (so the Enclave residents had a direct route to the shopping area ). Oh, there must be one service station in Amberville...but there would have to be one dock area where they fuel up their boats (and a dock that is probably big enough for a tanker, as that's the only way for oil to get to the island...and a refinery on the island as well...whoops, no, wait, the refinery and the oil tanker dock would have to be on Coral Island to support the base there.)

Ah! Akima has much in common with Christian then...very cool. They would get along pretty well, I think, for that reason. And I have to admit I was expecting her to be Nyah's daughter.

Hm, interesting. Yes, it isn't too surprising that they both think that grass is greener...or the seaweed...on the other side of the surface of the sea.

lol! The wonderful 'Mr. Cork'! ROFLMAO

Yes, I'm sure no one else on the island has been a mermaid...among the residents, that is. Fantasizers, certainly. And perhaps Roarke had even done this once...

LOL! Tobias strikes again! It certainly is amazing how little ones can untie a shoe and we'll never even know it...

Yah! Susanna pulled herself up by herself! Wu and hu!

Yes, paternal pride. A very good thing. (And I have it too, of course...lol) And a good idea to have a blog and keep the people up on the trips' latest developments. Actually, because they have worldwide fans, they would have a lot of hits, certainly...

Hey, that's a good idea. Leslie can write the English version, and Christian the jordiska version, of the triplets' blog. (And I think you could write a few paragraphs now and then from the blog to keep us...and the family back home in Lilla Jordso...up on the babies, just as you occasionally put in their emails or newspaper and magazine headlines and articles...)

I imagine it is very hard for the crew at the office to get over losing Mateo...he was such a solid part of their lives, if a bit quiet. I wonder why Anton didn't apply for any of the Arcolosian positions... He'd be at most a timezone or so away from his family, and he could arrange several weekend visits (for example, over an Arcolosian holiday's three-day weekend) as well as his annual vacation and spend Christmas with them as well. Oh well, perhaps when Christian is ready to open an office in Germany--Anton would be absotively perfect to run it!

Ah, I get it...the 'look' on Roarke's face was that he was hearing Akima's voice, despite being several miles away...

Good chapter and I look forward to the next one!

abuseWell, Haruko certainly has her hands full, but I think she and the trips will have a lot of fun. It's nice to live close to the beach; I spent a year on the coast once, although I didn't get to the beach often enough.

Oh yeah, bathing little ones all covered with sand...I remember those baths and showers back when I was a kid...yuck, I didn't want to get clean...but I'm certainly I'd feel very clean when I was done! LOL

Yah! Susanna stood up by herself! Oh, I'm sorry Christian and Leslie missed it...but something tells me they'll get to see it for themselves in a couple days... These trips, once they accomplish something new, they will happily be trying it again and again and again...

Oh, I hope Haruko can them home before the storm hits... I also hope Christian and Leslie will be ready to welcome the trips home by then! snicker snicker

Oh, waiting in the ticket office is a good idea. Christian and Leslie will be appreciative that they stayed inside.

Aw, poor Karina...I hope storms don't bother her... Obviously Tobias and Susanna are too tired to pay attention to the storm.

Huh, what a mess the storm left! It'll be awhile before it gets all cleared away, I'm sure.

Haruko to the rescue! Good girl, everyone will be proud of you...Roarke, Christian, Leslie, your parents... Of course, I don't think this will exactly make the headlines of the newspaper...LOL

Cool! Haruko knows about kappas! Awesome...most Westerners don't know about them, and I don't think many younger Japanese know about them now unless they have an interest in folklore and mythology. I suppose some of her mother's training was in folklore and mythology, in case her clients wanted to talk about the subject. Oh, that makes sense, she knows about the tea ceremony, so she knows many of the country's traditions. Of course she would know about kappas...

A warning to stay away from kappas? Cool, thanks...

No kappas in the shallows, but they are around the islands, according to this account. Divers (especially around Coral Island) better beware!

Oh, Akima is a beautiful name! Wherever did you get it?

Hooray, they have achieved friendship!

Oh no! The trips...well, ultimately, Leslie and Christian won't be too upset with her, simply because she helped save the mermaid's life.

LOL...the conversation about Leslie's fears and Christian's lack thereof...

Well, I see Haruko wants to be silent...at least for now. Well, if she ever decides to talk to Leslie about it, she'll find a welcome ear.

Darn, she chickened out...oh well...

I wonder if this incident will give Haruko an interest into working for Roarke after she graduates. Still, that's several years from now... (and some time from now, as well)

Yes, I wonder how does one be friends with a mermaid. It's not like she could hang out at the mall on Coral Island with Akima... I guess they could swim and talk about boys, maybe... Boys...whether they are human or merman...would pretty much be the same, regardless of the species...

Fabulous, well-written and well-described chapter! Good stuff again!

abuseThis starts of with a cool title. I can't wait to read it! :)

Excellent plans for the day!

Haruko's gonna have lotsa fun with the trips; she's a cool kid :)

Hehehehe...nice plan to wait for him in bed...very romantic :) I hope he's up to it, um her, after his long flights...

Ten days flat? Excellent work hiring them, Christian! Very good indeed...

Hehehehehe...Christian really likes this welcome home :)

AH HA! She's doing a control thing...wu and hu, excellent! (big grin) That's always special :) Oh yeah, and I like it, too LOL

Wonderful scene! You really should write romances for a living; you are better than some Harlequin authors!

Gordon, who has actually read a couple Harlequins out of curiosity's sake...

abuseI think Roarke made some good points that both young ladies gave some serious thought to. Its good to see that while both would LOVE to see what each others life is like, they had the sense to listen to what Mr. Roarke had to say. Now, lets see how each one enjoys living in the others world, if only for a weekend.

abuseOh, you are so teasing us-will Akima like being a human-and not make the mistakes her mother did? I know Haruko will not eat fish-but can she handle what she will find down in the sea? And Mr. Roarke...he's going to transform too? Wait until Leslie and Christian find out! LOL! Thanks for a very addictive story-more please!

abuseI think that Leslie has figured some of what Roarke was sensing. And for ONCE she is going to be able to let HIM know what some of the goings on are about, which will be a switch, since normally Roarke is the one who fills her in on things.

abuseI think that the idea that this young mermaid princess came up with is a great idea! It would give both of the young ladies a chance to see what they others life is like. And, it will give them both a appreciation of what they have. As for the idea of a blog to show the world what the triplets are up to, it sounds like a GREAT idea!

abuseI love it! Nyah had a daughter who wants to be human? What
a great way to celebrate the growing up of Haruko...and
seeing what some of Leslie's friends children deal with.

But Haruko needs to learn to trust Leslie-and her story
with someone-what a conundrum! Thanks for a great beginning-now what happens?:)

abuseSounds to me that Haruku has earned some BIG TIME respect from this mermaid. And, while that is a good thing, it might not hurt to talke to Mr. Roarke about this, find out what would be a good thing to do to express appreciation for what this young lady wants to offer her.
