I like stories about the horrors of the Shadow Temple. And I gotta give you to ya: this is now my favorite of any of those stories, at least the ones I've read. If I ever wrote fanfiction set in OoT in the aftermath of Link's quest, I'd probably use this as his experiences in the Shadow Temple.

The Bottom of the Well, the Shadow Temple, and Bongo-Bongo were terrifying. after i finally got the hover boots and trekked thru the whole damn temple, Bongo defeated me for more than one reason:
*the camera control in OoT is bad
*i couldn't talk to Navi because of the jumping
*the music, the drumming, and everything scared the wits out of me.
after that, i said "screw the shadow temple", explored Hyrule, and was mostly done with the spirit temple. for the longest time Navi tortured me with: "Hey! Listen! Have you tried playing the Nocturne OF Shadow that Sheik taught you?!"

Wow I really enjoyed the first-person used here, it gave voiceless Link a voice! Yay! :) I also enjoyed the first chapter - when he has that love/hate thing going on with the temples. Poor guy. Great work, will you do the Spirit Temple next?

Your fic is the first Zelda one I've read, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Your writing style is beautiful, wonderfully detailed and lifelike. It's very similar to mine, really, and I love your story.

I think it's great that your addressing Link's mind and how he feels--it's very, very good.
