Iskah 2008-06-19 . chapter 6Well... I guess, for the most part, reviews will beg you not to stop your story, and so on. I'm sorry, but I don't feel this way...
First and foremost, I understand how frustrating it must be, to spend so much time in something, to expect many reactions, but to receive few. I'm not denying this fact, and I feel sorry that you have to be one of those writers who don't receive many reviews.
But I don't really believe you when you say you don't write for yourself. Maybe I'm wrong, but my feeling is, of course you write also for yourself. You wouldn't spend so much time on something if you didn't like it, or else you must be masochist. That doesn't mean you don't write for us, but why deny that you like writing?
And what I feel, when I read your message, is that you want to do something like emotional blackmail. Ok, this term may seem too strong, but it's a fact that, when you say you won't update unless you receive more reviews, you take your readers hostage, even those who review. It doesn't seem fair to me...
You know, there's an author I really like: Hajnalmadar. She writes a really good Ita/Saku story, not only in her native language, Hungarian, but she translates it in English, too, which is a lot of work. It's hardier than when English is your native language. And yet, she's got very few reviews. But I never heard her complain: for her, it isn't the quantity of reviews that matter, but the quality. She prefers one detailed review, rather than 100 'update soon!'. Maybe it's just a point of view, but I find it wise.
Ok, my review may seem harsh, and I'm sorry for this: usually I don't like to write criticism. But after all, you did the same with your message... at least that's how I perceived it.
English isn't my native language, thus I spend more time than many when I write them (not to mention the fact that I often write long reviews). And I must confess that this type of message is typically what makes me flee... If I want to write a review, I do, but I really, really don't like being forced to do something like that just to read the next chapter. |
blackbloodedkunoichi 2008-06-19 . chapter 6I know completely what you mean, hun...there are some seriously CRAP stories and they get so many ** reviews! I sometimes think they give them to themselves...lol but please don't give up! If you love writing, then write! If you love this story, then carry on with it! Don't write it for other people!! Write it cuz you WANT to...but yeah, I always get disheartened from lack of reviews...but PLEASE carry on, this is a very good story! And you're right, there are so many ** ItaSaku stories!! And around 20 REALLY good ones, or ones that I'd read hehehe

DON'T GIVE UP! |
cassidy stork 2008-06-18 . chapter 6 Please don't give up on Facade! It is very well-written and the characters are never OOC. I have read quite a number of fanfics, and I would have to say that Facade is my second favorite fanfics. Second only to the contentious heart. So, please don't give up on your beautiful story! Amarante intrigues me so much! So, please please please don't give up on it. I'm sure there are other people out there who appreciate your work, because it really worth reading. Hope you will continue. Update soon!! |
