I actually find this beautifully done, albeit sad.

...Wow. That was totally meaningful. I usually get emotional over sad-ending fanfics but this was particularly good. I like Light's thoughts. They sound really nice. Oh, but I really, really, REALLY liked the idea of Light needing L to breathe. That was a fantastic way of putting it. Instead of saying he wants L to live, he says he needs L to breathe. That's just...I dunno. It sounds just plain perfect to me.

Nice writing! And an interesting take on their relationship, it's quite likely that it would be one-sided but it's not something that's often considered...

I kept thinking now L's going to say he feels something - but this story is so much better because he didn't. Poor Light. I always end up feeling sorry for Light.
