I love this. You compiled both the books and movies into a wonderful little one shot. And the whole "Please say yes" kills me everytime I watch the gazebo scene. This is nicely written and I like how you added the gramophone in. :)

Ooer...getting very interesting. Just to let you know, get your history facts right. the gramophone was invented in the early 1900's, I think after WWI. This setting is in the late (ish) 1800's. But who really notices? Except me. Anyway, you've captured the feelings and emotions of the characters really well, especially Anne. Bravo! Continue and update!

That song is the song in the 3rd Anne movie when Anne finds Gil! Aww. I've always loved that scene.

In my humble opinion this is quite a nice piece to accompany the chapter in AoI, but the first person perspective doesn't sound quite Anne-ish somehow.

I just wanted to give this story a review, it looked so lonesome without one.

Can I tell you how much I love your writing style? I think this was a very well written story. You have captured the anguish and uncertainty which I think Anne must have surely felt when the waters of her perfectly imagined world were muddied just a wee bit after Gil proposed.
