| fledge 2008-06-10 ch 2, | abuseA fine follow-uo, as well as a great step forward in the writing as such. You have very admirably circumnavigated the danger of denouncing feminism summarily. Like most things, it was designed by The Enemy and only twisted to infernal use later on, and you point that out nicely. A beautiful idea is that irony of (extreme) feminists actually hating anything feminine, thus becoming exactly what they hate themselves. Of course, abusive parents are a common excuse these days, conveniently ignoring there is supposed to be such a thing as free will and making your own choices - another good point here. Loking forward to your next piece! |
| fledge 2008-05-13 ch 1, | abuseAs the admirable Val has already said, you ought to enlarge these letters a good deal, and she certainly knows what she's talking about her Fanfiction Letters are indeed a stroke of genius. But it is a very commendable start. We can really need some female devils around here in this age of feminism :) Whatever you do, keep this project going! |
| Screwtape Fan 2008-05-13 ch 1, anon. | abuseGreat chapter! I bet Screwtape and Blandskanky get together to have coffee and gripe acbout their neice and nephew. |
| Val Evenstar 2008-05-11 ch 1, | abuseThis is sort of brief, but what you have is pretty good. May I suggest expanding what you have, though? Lewis, in his Screwtape letters, rarely went this short. Expand- build it up like an essay or speech, with illustrations and logical arguements, the kind you would use in a debate. You could also use this as a chance to show off a larger vocabulary and your reasoning skills. If this is something you feel strongly about, you should have very little trouble writing a lot more about it more in depth. if youre having trouble adapting the Letters to a more modern time/audience, dare I suggest my own writings, The Fanfiction Letters? It of course can't compare to Lewis, but I think I've handled Screwtape in the 21st century rather decently. Anyway, good luck on the rest of this! |
