You know, I read a similar story, only one (well, two if you count the one that isn't finished). Can't remember the name of it though, and the 'real' world didn't feature any magic. I like that yous does. Hm. Wonder if the ending will be anything like the others, though. In that one, Harry had decided to stay in the world with magic at the end of the story. Then, there was an epilogue where where the scene in the magic-less world has everyone sad and Harry catatonic. Ah, now that I think about there's actually 3 or 4 of these. They're not so easily written, I'd say. But you've done a marvelous job thus far.

First of all...this is the first Harry Potter fanfiction I have read that I could not stop reading. The premise was a very interesting one, and intrigued me from the beginning. The idea that Harry was only dreaming *either* of his realities is not a subject easily written without being unbelievable...but you managed it.

Before the "snapshots" chapter, a few things that I noticed...in the last chapter also...was that your transitions are very sharp and a bit confusing. The writing is also a little rushed in places, all of which takes away a bit from the story. I would have liked to see some more scene-setting, a bit of mood in the first seven chapters, in particular.

I thought that Draco's part in the story was...slightly contrived and awkward...and a bit rushed also. I think that the idea of him being there, and why, is workable, but very difficult to write. A little smoothing out there, though, I think would do wonders.

At first I thought chapter 8 was way too rushed, before putting together the "snap" comments and the chapter name, and understood. Once I knew that, I enjoyed the effect.

I thought that the brief part from Ginny's POV was very out of place...it was jarring to the reader, who has been seeing the entire story from Harry's POV...and I think it could have worked far better to manage it from Harry's POV there, also.

Two things struck me in particular about the story. One: you are very good with characterization. You go a bit beyond the paper-doll characterizations that most people use, and that made the canons so much more real. In particular I loved how you wrote for Dobby - that was just well done. The second thing was the sort of flash-scenes with Dobby trying to get Harry to wake up...very creepy, and very mysterious.

I really liked Dumbledore's explanations about fate and choice.

I don't really like romance at all...but you didn't make it the focus of the story, and wove it tastefully into the story...so kudos for that.

Overall, I loved the story. For a while, I didn't know what was real and what wasn't, either...no matter how perfect Harry's dream life was...I still thought that just maybe...it *was* real. I *wanted* it to be...I always wished Harry could be happy, too. But I was also happy with his decision to continue the fight. And Harry's future *is* possible...that he will have his own family someday and be happy.

Well done!

Nice story. Very well written and thought out, and the reactions of the characters are very believable. I particularly like the ending. Very believable take on the whole AU genre.
