I think Maddy is an interesting character in her own right, and she draws new dynamics out of the rest of the crew, particularly Mal and River. I love how you are writing River's struggle to be strong for Maddy, how she longs to be normal and fit in and spare Simon worry, and yet how that takes a terrible toll on her. You haven't minimized her trauma, and you are doing a terrific job of letting Simon and the rest of the crew show her that it's all right to let her abnormal thoughts and feelings play themselves out, rather than trying to hide them. There is a lot of love in your story, and it's beautiful. Thanks for writing! |

Worst case it becomes a little AU and there is nothing wrong with that one. It will just be more interesting. Actually until I read this and one other story in this universe I was never into the series. I would say the fan fic is at least as interesting as the actual shows. Nicely done. They were pretty much on target at first but It's slipping slightly. If your doing this on purpose, explain it in your story, explain why Mal is suddenly so docile, that these girls have changed him... That's the only thing I can think of that could be improved. |
