I enjoy the way you painted both the characters. This one-shot could be easily canon. Human and Shinigami are not the same and, man, Higuchi and Rem are *really* not the same. They feel, think, want in an opposite way. I’m glad that your one-shot ended up from Rem’s POV: you got perfectly her rationality, her wish to feel alive, her sigh for Misa. So sad, so deep. Really thank you.

No! Higuchi's an idiot and I'm glad HE died...I think Yotsuba just lacks depth.
I LOOVE this fic now that I've picked up the guts to read it. I despise all Shinigami/human pairings. It's just gross. But I can see Rem thinking this over and wishing for things she couldn't have.
And I couldn't help scowling through Higuchi's lines. He's such a perv! And I couldn't help thinking how L would take the death of the news anchor...probably overworking the task force for weeks just to scrutinize the reason she was killed. XD

This is simply amazing! This is so deep, I can't believe it! If you didn't win the contest, you certainly deserved to! Everything is so true, it really got me thinking. When I saw it was a oneshot, I was expecting it to be crap, but man I was wrong! Thanks!

Wow, that was certainly... different! Interesting, I think the fandom needs more fics that look at Rem. I forget to think of Shinigami as having emotions or desires other than aleviating the boredom, and it's odd to think of Rem as a sexual being. But her love of Misa is fascinating, so it was really nice to read this.

Higuchi I don't really care for, but it was good to see him, and to read Rem's thoughts on him. Her agreeing with Light somewhat on the issue of unworthy humans is interesting. So yeah, I enjoyed this. Also, Misa's commercial sounds fun XD

The one shot is really awesome. You really don't see many fanfics with Higuchi in them at all, much less in a dominant role. And most Death Note fans hate his guts. Oh well.

Rem's musings here are just so perfect! I love the way she analyses Higuchi, and the way she reacts to Misa. Misa/Rem pairings are usually destined to be sad though, or just musings on Rems's part. :(

Good to finally be reading and reviewing again! Can't wait to see more of your handiwork!

Now onto the review. I was enthralled by this! I've always liked Rem, and neither she nor Higuchi as you said, get enough love in this fandom. Higuchi doesn't even have his own section, I don't think! He's such a simple and easy to understand character, I know, but throw him in with Rem who has depth she like, shares her depth with him and they swim in an average-height pool of interest.

Wait, what?
Well, whatever I just said, I think you might understand what I'm trying to say. Or not. Dunno. Either way, good story! ^_^ I really felt Rem's plight - she lives forever, but she doesn't really live at all. Great story, I liked it much.
