If, say, Lorne meets a girl he really likes, he could go to Cadman for advice. Maybe he could fall for a nurse or a scientist. I think Cadman might also need some help with Carson. All in all, I love these stories and really would like to see more. I like the levity between Lorne and Cadman. I think there is a lot of potential for fun there.

Yay! Lorne/Cadman. This is one of my favorite pairings. Cadman was always a little too fiery and military-minded for Carson for them to work long term. After all Marines are usually hardcore and Carson was always very anti-military, "I don't have to follow your orders." I love the scene with Lorne greeting her and the playful flirting while carrying her stuff that she does not even see that she is doing. And throwing the underwear at him was great. Would love to see this whole story from Lorne's perspective.

Lovely story- like the rest that I have read!

It was maybe what, less than 24 short hours ago I had to google 'Lorne' to find out who he was? And this was the fic that did it. Thank you, much and greatly! I'm now a recruit to the Lorne fandom in general, the Lorne/Cadman dynamic in particular.

What strikes me most is the subtle play of relationships and personality out of what is essentially a closed community. That the outspoken Cadman made more of an impression than she knew? So very true to life. That her through-line contact would be the more reserved but clearly respectable Lorne? Does them both credit. On down to Lorne having the (revelatory for me, at least) menial task of orientation briefing later that day, their lives have the clang of day-to-day reality that gives their developing relationship the poignancy of truth I so rarely feel from fanfic.

The Beckett bit was very good too, and I'm definitely a fan, but it's hard to refocus after seeing Lorne eh?

(And, oh god, oh god, rereading this now I think I may have stolen the underwear thing into a fic I'm working on, (under modified circumstances). I could have sworn it was from somewhere random, or maybe Bridgette Jones, but now I'm convinced my subconscious nabbed it here. Is that bad, do you mind?)

Aside from newfound panic, I have to say this 'underwear paragraph' is one of the best paragraphs I've read in quite a while. There's a sense of unwitting absurdity which pervades the Stargate universe, and you've nailed it here not only in theory, but in the beautifully composed structure. It could stand alone as a drabble. Everything you need to know in a few sentences, and so many places for the mind to wander.

Normally I like to offer something in the way of constructive criticism, but at this point I really can't. I'm sorry, still too overwhelmed :> I would like to note that -> you're not a native English speaker?!? I think I remember running across one or two weird grammatical bits total from all your fics, but since 99% of authors I've read have more than that, I couldn't begin to tell you where they might have been. I only hope, one day, to be nearly as proficient in a second language myself You, my dear, are a poet in English. I shudder to think what you might be in your mother tongue ;]

O! Subtext Lorne/Cadman. Gotta admit, even though I'm a big Carson/Laura fan, the thought of Lorne/Cadman is appealing. Such a quandary.
