I don't really understand the signifigance of the photo at the end, but i really loved this story! it made me cry a little bit too. I would love it if you added more to the Rose universe, it's very well written. This is one of the best Rose Potter stories i've enver read. Most of the time Rose Potter is just an exact replica of Harry Potter, I love how you make them similar but there are still some differences between them and I love how you make it so that she is treated diffently because she's a girl. Most stories it's ecactly the same only with Rose Potter being a girl and all(and usually she's such a cry baby in those stories too!) Any way, i really like this.

Another good fic. I especially enjoy the complexities of Severus's and Rose's relationship; so much more complex than it is in canon.

This and the orginal are so engaging and fantastically written. I really can't tell you how much I love these two stories.
Usually I don't ask writers for sequels, but I just can't help myself. Please, please, consider writing more stories in this universe. It's such an absolute joy to read.

Thank you so much for sharing!

Wonderfully well written (yay for alliteration). I love how you did this one from Rose' pov, it fills out the relationship and story much more than it was. I hope you'll continue this story on post the end of Girl in the War so we can see how their relationship may change DH and what happens after. Kudos to you for a story that somehow manages to be full with only two one-shots.

Interesting. Does she think Snape is her father?

By the way, I think you're right on the money about the relationship between Sirius and James.

Please do another sequel?

Snape calls Sirius her "dogfather" lol.
Love these stories, you rock!

This is excellent. I hope you continue giving little glimpses of what happens between what was alread in Girl in the War--which I loved. (I liked how Snape refers to Sirius as her dogfather. Possibly a pun on the fact that dog is god spelled backwards, even more so than that it's his Animagus form?) Snape is truly marvelous. His cutting remarks are simply superb. And his relationship with Rose is expertly done. Twisted in a way that I can't get enough of. I simply cannot wait to read whatever it is that you write next.

Sirius was in love with her father, yes... and Snape was in love with her mother. I wonder if Rose realizes that.

I love Girl in the War, and I like this too, but the main thing for me that it does is point out all of the squickiness of those Wizarding World relationships: that her headmaster decides where she will spend her summer, that the Wealsey's try to micromanage her (I'm asuming they do, in this story, but you never actually said that) and that Snape is her teacher and her mentor and also, maybe, pretty determined to become her lover even if he's not admitting it to himself. In addition to it's wonderful mood and character development and au-ness and all sorts of things, this was a very good run-up to what I'm assuming will be a teacher/student relationship; I know it's very, very good because, as much as I enjoyed it, the clear portrayal of the messed up power dynamics reminded me why teacher/student is, even when done well and done right and something one wants to support, just inherently squicky. So. Congratulations, and thank you.

Brilliant. An absolute gem. I'm gratified to discover that you fully live up to your reputation after 'The Guiltless' and 'The Poor of God'. And looking at things from Rose's (Harry's?) point of view gives a fresh perspective to the previous 'Girl in War'. I love the dynamics of Snape and Rose that is painted in this story - complex, with lots of unvoiced thoughts and feelings, but obvious enough for the readers to detect and for us to make our own interpretations. I had adored 'Girl in War', when you compress seven years of relationship and weave everything together in a seamless, flowing chronicle; but it seems that capturing a specific part of their interaction is no less impressive.

Although if I might point out something, Rose seems rather weepy, which may be understandable considering the loss of her godfather, and being sick while all alone (well, before Snape comes to the rescue with his sword and white horse anyway) but she comes off as slightly excessively melodramatic for someone who someone who doesn't even complain of being locked with dreadful, horrid relatives for more than half of her life (and was still forced to spend her summers there for another 4 years).

But Snape is being his oh-so-glorious bastard self, with cutting retorts and extensive vocabulary, it is almost impossible not to fall in love with your Snape. Although I find that one of Rose's comebacks is particularly memorable:

"He never even saw you," Snape says, and though the words sound like an insult he speaks them as though he means them to be comforting. "Not truly."

Rose feels her mouth twisting, forming words of its own accord. "What's to see?" she says.

Kudos on a job well done. This fully merits an Outstanding.

PS: As delighted I am to find another well-written story to indulge in, I will be infinitely happier were I to discover an update on 'The Poor of God', which is one of my all-time favourites. I hope your schedule permits sufficient time to complete the series, if only not to keep us poor devotees of the story tethering on the ropes of anxiety and anticipation.

This is so captivating. As in, I find myself rereading it. Snape's and Rose's relationship is very believable and you write about it spectacularly. I hope you continue this.
