CAH 2008-10-06 ch 26,	abuseIvy has been an adult a long time - Elrond needs to realize that she's probably safer with Legolas than some of the other men she's dated! Love the tension between the two elves. Legolas never is one to back down to the elf lord now is he? snicker Even as an elfling he stood up to what he thought was right. At least Glorfindel sees the humor in it! Erestor and Glrofindel seeing to Legolas' inner elfling too amuses me to no end - apples, bread and honey! Too bad they froze and Legolas didn't get to enjoy them! Keep up the good work!

I'm excited to see where the story goes (obviously I have much more to read, since I'm only commenting on Chapter 1). Out of curiosity, were you at all influenced by Darma Druid's "Fortress Around the Heart"?

Rhyselle 2008-10-04 ch 26,	abuseOh, it was so nice to come back from "A Long Expected Party" to find the update on this story! :) This has become one of my very favorite AU tales ever, and I really enjoy the character of Ivy that you two have created. She is most definitely NOT a Mary Sue. I also love the characterizations of the elves very much. Elrond... sigh I admit that at my advanced age, I still wish I could have Lord Elrond treat me as a daughter, the way he's treating Ivy. :) I cried for Elladan and Gwen... such a sad thing to happen to him. It's bad enough that he had to watch her grow old, but to see her soul vanish before him as the Alzheimer's took over... oh dear, I'm about to weep again. This was a wonderful chapter, just as good as the ones before it. I very much look forward to reading the future chapters! And there are going to be so many more of them, from what you've said... I'm so glad!
MORNNEN 2008-10-04 ch 26,	abuseAnother excellent chapter. Having grown up in the midwest, I know something of the type of snowstorm you describe in the chapter. And I must say, I dearly love the approving grin and wink at Ivy from Glorfindel. Your characterization of him is wonderful. The timing of your post could not have been better--it made my day. I am eagerly awaiting the next words between Elrond and Legolas. Go little leaf!

I had to chuckle at the thought of Legolas sheepishly cleaning up all the hay he'd just scattered across the stable in lieu of skewering Julien - and turning the plate of bread and apples upside-down without losing a morsel to the floor. Beautiful verbal imagery. There was a poignant little moment when Ivy was thinking about who protects the protector. After finally breaking down and reading the stories that came before this one, that stream of thought was almost enough to choke me up. It's also fun to see the over-protective Papa Elrond begin to raise his head that Elladan was warning Ivy about earlier. Considering the way he probably hasn't had a lot to say with the lives of his previous Daughters of Time, something tells me Elrond's going to be in over-drive protection-wise with Ivy. Legolas may be considered more than capable to run Greenwood, but he'll have a much tougher row to hoe to convince Elrond to let him court Ivy. snicker And Glorfindel just proved himself to be just as sneaky as Elrond - I bet he knew what Legolas' reaction to Ivy being thrust out into the cold would be. What a way to show his socially-isolated son that he has friends - other than his own family - who want to be near him just because. Again, brava! Awaiting the next update with great anticipation. Hope all that has been giving you folks trouble has been settled and squared away. PS: this is MMB - I have a new authorname for my LoTR fics, and thought I'd review under that name now since I spend more time here than on the other.

Go super-elven daddy! rolls on the floor laughing Though Legolas has some pretty good intentions; I think he just wants to be friends. And he desperately needs a female one who will take care of him (he's a little reckless, aye?). If he'll make a move on someone, I think he's the type to make sure they're friends first. So until the friendship between Legolas and Ivy is stronger, they'll probably not participate much in the hanky-panky department. Wonderfully written interactions (so CUTE!), and I look forward to reading more!
