The episode *was* so disappointing. I was waiting for it and then Mycroft was there and I knew, toward the end of the series, Jeremy Brett was really ill but...why couldn't they have done this episode earlier then? I was sort of thinking maybe Mycroft would throw a little c to the h but nope, we didn't even get that!

That was a short, but sweet story! I liked it! Poor Watson! Even though he doesn't show it, its easy to see that Holmes is worried for his friend!

Okay, so I finally watched this episode tonight, and you're right, it was most unsatisfactory. I'm glad we have your drabbles to fill in the h/c blanks!

"A terrible smell of blood on both of them" - an incredibly evocative line that really makes me feel that scene.

oh gosh, yes! I was so P.O.'ed when I first saw that ep and Holmes wasn't there when Watson was hurt. ('Coure, I didn't know at the time why it was done that way but still.)
