May Never Know 2009-08-01 . chapter 3You've written Autor in a very IC manner. :) And I found myself nodding over and over again with every point in the first chapter. Autor really did do a lot more than he was given credit for. Blocked an axe slice with a book, pushed Fakir out of the way of getting his hands cut off, tackled a crazy person out of the house, and then said the words that may have helped encourage Fakir to continue writing...Jeez! This guy helped out. :( And he's hardly recognized for it...So sad. And his obsession over all things related to Dosselmeyer...I'm really glad you touched on that. How he was disgusted with himself for what he became...
You know, I always found it interesting how Autor had such a knack for being able to tell when the course of reality or peoples' destinies were being altered. Like when he immediately knew that time was being turned back and how he seemed to know all along that everything was a story...Really makes Autor a notable character. Because, even if he wanted all along to be the storyspinner, he might have had a special ability all his own. You really tied that into this story. What most everyone else had forgotten, Autor remembered. Particularly Rue, who I didn't think that he would ever forget.
By the way, I find it very interesting that you had Malen being Autor's sister. I noticed the similarities in appearance as well as the similar affixation with Rue, but...I never thought to write them as being siblings. ^^ Nice work with artistic liberty there.
Autor's getting really drastic, ins't he, though? Trying to get the Book Men involved, when one had basically tried to kill him...O_O I'm starting to wonder whether or not Autor's going to be the protagonist of this or more of an anti-hero. ^^ Very interesting! I can't wait to see where this plot goes.
I hope you update soon. There really isn't enough Autor fanfiction on this site and you portay him very true-to-form. Keep up the good work! I look forward to future chapters.
Happy writing!

RoyalGreenGirl - Eloise Miner 2009-04-10 . chapter 3ugh.. stupid autor... he's SO STUPID sometimes.. and creepy-lookin 0-o lol write more! i want to make sure Ahiru will be alright! :D |
Kawaii Spider 2008-11-10 . chapter 3Now this is something I'm delighted I found...
For one thing, it's flawlessly written and, well, wonderful. I hope it's not dead and rather you're like me and end up unable to write a thing for period.
And for another... I have a strong weakness for Autor. XD Of the cast of Princess Tutu, I felt a more of a connection to him than anyone else. He doesn't get nearly enough love in this fandom. |
The Penumbra 2008-10-18 . chapter 3Interesting! I've been looking for a good 'what happens after' for a long time... I hope to see more of this soon! :D |
ingvild 2008-09-18 . chapter 3Huhm. This is certainly shaping up to be quite interesting. Odd, I don't think I've seen a story with Autor as the central protagonist before.
I have to wonder why Fakir didn't just tell him that Rue left with Mytho, but that could just be him being difficult. |
Janika 2008-08-08 . chapter 3I'm surprised Autor would let music classes interfere w/ finding Fakir in the first place. He's the sort who gets obsessed and then stops caring about anything else.
I get the feeling Fakir isn't quite in control either. Oh! Autor really isn't acting like himself. Maybe someone is pulling his strings to make him attack his -- well, I guess they're not really friends. Relatives, maybe.
I'm really surprised at Autor! I mean he's only concerned w/ what he wants rather than what's good for everyone else. Does it ever cross his mind that maybe this is the way things are supposed to be? I think there's a fair amount of pride and power in the knowledge that he can remember everything while others do not.
What I really wonder is why Autor has no memory that coincides w/ the real town. The only possibility is that he's still connected to the story, or at least won't let himself be severed from it. Sounds to me like it's time to do some research! Would Drosselmeyer's stories be finished in this world? The ending of The Prince and the Raven would definitely be different since Princess Tutu died -- hold it! Did she REALLY die? She just disappeared, right? Hmm... Even if it was meant to be a tragedy, is it possible the ending was happy after all?
Well, whatever happens it'll have something to do w/ that mysterious clock. |
BluSakura 2008-08-08 . chapter 3(grins like an idiot)
OH SHNAP.
I want to dislike Autor, but how can you blame a guy who fell in love and was left with pretty much a lame role in the story? The confrontation with Fakir was intense (and I couldn't help but grin when he defended Ahiru).
Now I'm definitely at the edge of my seat, especially if it wasn't Fakir's doing and the Book Men are going to get all tangled up in this.
Can't wait to see what happens! |
BluSakura 2008-08-07 . chapter 2I really appreciate your attention to one of the most ignored characters in Tutu! I mean, even friggin Femio has a better fanbase...
And this is very Autor-esque. This is exactly how he is expected to act, especially because he finds out that no one remembers the one he fell in love with. And it's true--he didn't receive so much as a thank you!
I think you made me actually like Autor a little bit more! |
Janika 2008-07-26 . chapter 2How interesting... So Malen and Autor are siblings, are they? The way she cares so much and he won't let her in makes me want to punch him square in the jaw, but w/ someone like him that probably wouldn't do any good. He's so swelled w/ his own importance and wants credit for it.
Isn't it just like them both to get obsessed by something? Of course, Malen was possessed by the shard, so I suppose she had a magical excuse while Autor was just enveloped by the knowledge he discovered, hence the power it implied he may have. Control-freak...
Aww! I had no idea he was in love w/ Rue! So sad, but that's what idiots like him get when they spend their days obsessing over lineages and books rather than wooing the object of their affections.
So he's going to try to write Rue back into existence? I thought for sure that Mytho and Rue would go to a place where they belonged together rather than this real world. He wasn't real after all, and although Rue was, I'm sure the world where he lived would be able to keep her since she was his princess.
I think personally that things are as they should be, but Autor is the type who finds no joy in anything except what he can do himself...which makes me wonder if anyone else can ever make him happy, including Rue. Doubtful. I also wonder if he is so good at writing music b/c of his Drosselmeyer heritage, and if the music he writes holds more magic than the stories he may.
Sometimes the roles people want to assume are beyond their grasp. |
Janika 2008-07-26 . chapter 1Is that title supposed to be a pun?
Your similes match the tone and symbolism of the anime perfectly! I'm really surprised, and your portrayal of Autor is so accurate that I can actually see him responding like this. The way his thoughts surrounding Fakir are filled w/ envy, regret, curiosity, anger, and a sad sense of failure despite his triumph make him a very real person who has a gift he wishes desperately was stronger.
Ah, I take it that's THE clock. We shall see, I suppose...
Oh, and thank you SO MUCH for having flawless grammar and spelling! It's so rare to find your type here. |
James Birdsong 2008-06-23 . chapter 2 Oh gods this is so good. Pardon me if I do cry. Oh sheesh wow. Egads. Again perfect. Yikes. |
Billie the fourth sage 2008-05-23 . chapter 1wow, that was...
deep. I mean, it really goes in-depth to Autor's thoughts, and all that he'd accomplished and suffered through. It really shows the concept that not everyone gets a happy ending, although they live with it anyway.
It kinda made me feel bad, although it was such a well-written fic ^_^ |
James Birdsong 2008-05-23 . chapter 1 Yep awesome. *giggles*
Maybe even perfect. |
 Kayo-the-black-sheep 2008-05-22 . chapter 1Beautiful. You NAILED him. Honestly. |
