Nice story, but it stumbled on like Takato does in the show with Jeri (and Rika).

I really like your choice of timing for the fic

since Rika really did push herself away from everyone. When you made the flashback quotes,

it would have been easier to explain if you used"..." to drift from one part to another. I don't

think that when Rika arrived Takato's mind should be racing for joy. Instead, his inner feelings should have been strongly worrisome. Finally,

as she lay there after the bandaging, it would

occur to him that "Now's my chance" And rather than to just blurt out his real feelings, he should have been sitting there apologizing and simply saying he'd protect her till this was over.

Then, he'd get up, and as he walked off, she'd weakly grab his arm, shivering and barely uttering"Please, don't leave me." From this, it leaves a lot of room for Takato to experiment with trying to get her to admit she likes him and for her to grow and them to get closer.
