There is great beauty in the fact that everything is so integrated. I can see it all happening just as described, and can appreciate McGee's horror as his words come to life.
I'm glad you left off the main answer: Is his writing coming to pass because he foresees it, or is it happening because he wrote it? Sort of like the Twilight Zone episode with Burgess Merideth.
This leaves a good mystery, and more speculation about the future/past.
