I actually rather like how you jump between the past and the present. It makes it more interesting. As for all your questions regarding the pairing... Yes, I like it. I am happy to read NarutoXAnybody provided it's a character from the Naruto verse, is well written and there is a legitimate reason for them liking each other (i.e. depth in the relationship). You fulfilled all three requirements, so... *thumbs up*
I must say it saddens me that you have lost inspiration for this story. I hope you find it soon.
