One thing bugs me (alot).
James, Jack (and Jonathan his real name) are two completely different names.
Yes James is a form of Jacob. but Jack is a form of John which means God is gracious
and his real name is Jonathan which means "gift of God."
Nice idea but you Daniel would probably have just suggested jonathan.
Sorry names meanings are one of my big things.
