2009-01-31 . chapter 15
Aside from the teen romance, I enjoyed this fanfic very much.

I wondered when Ned was going to change the law about the oldest child becoming Mayor. But, you know, I guess Jojo never actually came out and said he didn't want to be Mayor in the movie, even after Ned discovered his secret workshop. Wonder how Jojo can earn a living with that? Maybe he can charge people for tours or something. Oh well, he has plenty of time to think about that.

I hope you write more Who fics. I should break down and write my own; I'm way more obsessed with this movie than I ever expected. XD

“'I fell from a mountain before,' Katie stated matter-of-factly. 'I died.'” LMAO! Katie is the perfect comic relief.

I like how you tied Horton Hatches the Egg with this story. I can't remember which story actually came first, but it doesn't really matter to me.

“It’s not as if you don’t have an abundance of other children, anyway.” I knew he’d say something like that. *sigh* At least Ned tried to stand up for himself in that scene.

When my paternal grandmother died I took a 4-day weekend and found that when I went back to work it was actually a relief to focus on my job to take my mind off the overwhelming sadness that Grandma was gone forever. Not that I'm trying to get you to feel sorry for me; I'm just offering a different perspective on the topic of death. 'Course, I'm sure it's much, much more difficult to lose a child, and I know there are different ways to handle grief.

You better believe I read every word of THIS chapter! What a tearjerker. Okay, I didn't actually cry, but I did feel a little moisture prick my eyes when I pictured the grieving family.

I'm still skimming most of the teen romance stuff, although I like the shift in Ned's attitude toward his daughters dating. Instead of being overprotective, he now realizes that he shouldn't hold them back or else they might have the same kind of regrets and heartache that he had.

I can't believe Rhiannon called her own father a freak, even though he was eavesdropping. Only Ned would let his child get away with that, honestly.

“Dr. Seuss? Don’t you think I’m a little old for him?” Wow, that is so meta. Actually, did you notice that the portrait of Ned’s father is a caricature of Dr. Suess? So, the way I envision the Who’s world, Ned’s dad IS their version of Dr. Suess. And the mayor. Yep, he did it all.

Hm...To be honest, I skimmed over the parts of this chapter that didn't have Sally or Ned in them; they just didn't interest me. But I did like the part where Rhiannon and Heather fought over who would sit in the last chair and by extension have more time with Daddy.

I suppose Sally does have a good point about what would happen if Ned had surgery and something went wrong.

“Dr. Hoovey, get me in there and give me that operation right now before this Casanova gets me pregnant again!” Haha! So cute!

I love Zaneeta for telling off the chairman - even calling him a prick! But I'm also glad she isn't taking over the whole story. That's the way OCs should be.

And honestly? Both Dr. LaRue and Sally should have thought to mention the vasectomy option much sooner, since Ned has made it clear from the beginning that he's worried about Sally's safety. Dr. LaRue made it seem like a vasectomy might be riskier than getting tubes tied. I may not know the medical term for getting your tubes tied but I do know that men recover much faster from getting snipped, at least in the human world.

Wow, it's hard to imagine what it would be like to have your dad die and your babies born on the same day. And the chairman being an insensitive jerkface doesn't help. Poor Ned! I expect his dad's death won't really sink in until the funeral.

This is too cute! Especially the argument at the end of this chapter.

“Well, if you didn’t seduce me all the time by being so darn gorgeous, this wouldn’t have happened in the first place!”

“Oh, so now it’s my fault for… ruining… our argument…”

LOL! Best Ned dialogue in a fanfiction, ever. Epic win. Ned is my favorite, too. Also, I'm glad I found someone who overanalyzed the movie as much as I did. I spent a long time musing over the 97 kids and wondering how it was physically possible, for example, and I can see that you did too. XD Even I never considered the possibility of Whos exploding during an operation, though. But I kept expecting Sally to say, "Actually, Ned, I was thinking YOU could get an operation." His reaction would've been priceless!

I don't always like episodic stories, but you pull it off. And all the episodes tie together, at least.

Wow, Commander, I have read this story through and now I must say...(claps hands together) well done. You caught the original characters' personalities well and I loved the way you wrote the OCs in this story. I must say, I was a little saddened by the death of Claire, but that is life and life must continue on, despite what is throws in our faces.

Also, I liked that mystery part of Vonfrood mentioning how he had lost someone he loved. It could give a lot of explanation as to why he's such a big grump.

Anyway, all in all, it was a very good story and I tip my hat to you.

Loved this story! Do you think that maybe you could write a sequel? Anyway, great story;thanks for writing it!

I know I'm going to sound awful for this, but the thought of a Who exploding during an operation makes me laugh, and also wonder what the heck the doctors were using to operate. xD

Oh, you're making him out to be new at the mayor thing? I mean, not new at it, just not mayor for long. But wait... his dad wasn't there in the movie, Ned was mayor. Oh the sense of foreboding.

Aw, that's such a sweet moment, the argument at the end. XD I've never known an argument to be so cute!

Again, the beginning is absolutely adorable, especially Ned's little 'you should stop hoarding them' thing. Jeez, why are you so good at writing Ned?? Scratch that, Ned and Sally together, their conversations are so well-written and cute and I can see them doing all that.

Offended if they called the hospital before her mom? Wow, she must be VERY possessive.

Well jeesh, no doctors to help, just to clean up the babies??

Wow... "/they're/ only the parents!" I think I know some people like that.

I like how Jojo got his name, that's cute.

2008-09-19 . chapter 2
Aw, the beginning sucked me right in, it was so sweet!

Ned, Ted, and Ed, that's cute XD

Aw... that's so sad about the mother leaving. Though I can't help but be amused with the way you described his grace, that's pretty good. And I like that about the word 'wrong', that's a really good point.

An old man crying to get his own way... that's funny! And of course he's just fine, no problem, after he gets what he wants.

This is so cute! I can actually see Ned doing all that, placing his hands on her belly and talking to it and all that. But wait... two weeks? That seems a bit short. I know this is Whoville, but two weeks still seems insanely short. I would think at least make it take as long as a cat and make it nine weeks. But it is your story.

Wow, a 'quivering bundle of emotions ready to burst at any minute' ... that sounds like our Ned!

Wow... I have to say, you are like on a totally different level of writing that I can only hope to one day achieve. Wow...

I can relate to him, I've had a lot of times where I've felt the same way. Surrounded by what I've made and what I want to do, yet can't bring myself to be creative. X)

This is very well-written, actually, and I feel kinda bad for not reading it before.
