I believe it's strange, too, that both Teal'c and Vala don't seem to be going out to see anymore of earth. I mean they know every damn planet in several galaxys but not the one they actually live on...

Love the reason why Teal'c wants to see the Grand Canyon. Not only is it understandable, but completely in tone with him.

I so love this little trip that Vala planned for Teal'c. Sometimes I think her friends forget about how intelligent and observant Vala really is. I always beleive that Teal'c and Vala have a kindship with one another, knowing they were both trapped one time by the Gou'ald. Their freedom means a little more to them and not just being aliens from another planet. The fact that this earth is their new home and have yet to explore it's wonders like the Grand Canyon and other great wonders that maybe SG1 takes for granted. The fact that Teal'c had trusted in Vala's intentions of just getting away and making Teal'c happy to be him once in awhile. Now letting Vala drive is truly a test of his faith and endurance as a friend. Let it to Vala to go to Las Vegas as her adventure. But all in all, I think this was a nice Vala and Teal'c just having a good time seeing what's beautiful to behold in it's natural environment. :D

This was a great idea. Can totally see Vala being the one to notice Teal'c's wistfulness and being able to relate to his desire to see more of Earth. And not surprising Jack would authorize it for them, he always did have a bit of a soft spot for the aliens on his old team.

Hope you do a sequel, would love to see what those two get up to in Vegas, or maybe even see the reactions of the members of SG-1 at the news of the road trip (somehow I doubt Daniel would approve).
