Haha... Nice work on this. Yes... I do imagine Vimes would be very touchy about his age. Very well done.

This is brilliant. I think that you're very good at writing Carrot in character. Sam was slightly OOC, but not enough to bother me. I also think that you write very much like Terry Pratchett indeed.
I mostly agree with Vimes about birthdays, but everyone tells me I'm too young to be annoyed about how birthdays are always supposedly happy.

Good job. Vimes seemed pretty in-character.

What a very, very Vimes-like way to "celebrate" a birthday! I can -so- see him act just like this!

Oh, well done. I truly approve of Vetinari being so tactful and at the same time a bit cruel. ;-)

I actually think that Vimes is 48 at the time of Thud!, because he is presumably 17 in Nightwatch, plus the thirty years, plus one (because Young Sam is just over one in Thud!), but Pterry has left it open how much time has elapsed between the last few books, so I wonder if Vimes is now f- OUCH!

LOL

I embarrassed myself, laughing out so loud I disturbed my brother, who, alas, has yet to discover Terry Pratchett. Impervious.

You got Sam Vimes just right.

It was delightful, thank you so much. It'd be so Vimes to get all upset about his birthday. I want to get him a tacky gag gift now. XD

And I absolutely agree with you, it's a pain in the arse to say watch persons/wolves/zombies/vampires.

Ah.

Convenient how both forty and fifty start with f, innit? Otherwise your ambiguity might be in a bit of a spot.

I was going to quote excessively, but upon consideration I think I shall refrain. Nevertheless, know that it was, indeed, hilarious.
