Hell no! You can't leave this as a one-shot, or at least add a little more to what you have already 'cause I'm so confused.
I mean, I know what was happening, but it needs MORE torture and I don't understand what B's last lines meant.
Please explain or add more.

As for you, I think you've done B justice. When I read that there was going to be torture in here, I thought you'd give B a bunch of instruments or something to use to torture L.

I was wrong, of course. It's strange, your ability to make mind games and a broken finger seem even more terrifying. And yes, that is a compliment.

Hm... This fic is strangely appealing and yet quite dark. Darkly appealing and now I sound like a romance writer. And yet, it's a romance of sorts too. It pushes the boundaries of who L is underneath his apatheticism and that's what really makes this one enthralling in my mind. You have dissected and extracted emotions for two very, unknowable characters who wish to be more than just the two-dimensional protagonists they are.

I adore the last line. Enchanting descriptive turns of phrase can be found throughout this piece as well. I must say that I'm enjoying watching your prose mature. Noticed a distinct change in your style towards the middle of "Of Music" and you continued it in "Shades of Grey" and now this piece. Well done.

But I have to say, I cannot for the life of me figure out the point of the title. It doesn't fit into my perspective of what this fic imbibes, if you get a chance and feel like expounding, drop me a line as to how/why you used that title.

I was so very excited to see a story about B written by you in my alerts this morning, I just had to come read it immediately.
And I absolutely loved it.

It seems perfect sense that Beyond would use the death of A to torture L so perfectly, had he the chance... an excellent and extremely effective device here. And the "torture" in itself is painfully tense and darkly delightful to read.

I'm really impressed this is your very first time writing B. You seem to slip inside his mind with pitch perfection, and the results are immensely satisfying to read. How sad that this is only a one shot. Thank you for sharing this, and here's hoping you write more B fics in the future!
