Very canon. Shows Sam's conflict about Emily and Leah very well.

This was great. I especially liked the way you had Sam stop short at the idea that it could have been Leah he'd scared and that he wouldn't have been able to atone for that in the way that he atones for it every day with Emily. :)

You somehow have the ability to make me see both sides of every story - every time I read New Moon, I feel Bella's hatred towards Sam. (Due to the whole in-body experiences and all that!)

It's uncanny that you can justify everyone's actions, even when I've always been so sure of how I feel about the situation; you always seem to have the ability to change my mind!

You've definitely got a good grasp on Sam, too. You've conveyed how torn he was, doing that to Jacob and Bella, and kept his logical side too. Once again, fabulous!

Wow. Nice insights, and great job with Sam. I know this was mentioned in the book, but I never thought about it from Sam's point of view. Like NoMoreThanUsual said, it didn't occur to me Sam might be trying to protect Bella from the possibility of Jacob imprinting in the future. In a way, I think the possibility of imprinting is one of the worst things the werewolves deal with... It's great once it happens, but if you haven't imprinted, how can you allow yourself to fall in love with anyone? Of course, now that Edward's back, I'm kind of hoping Jacob imprints.

I think this was pretty much what would have gone through Sam's mind when he decided how to deal with Jacob. Everyone seems really in character, and it's a very insightful piece. I loved it.

I always liked Sam and thought he should have had more book time. :)

I really like how the characters are "in character." But when Jacob said, "I hate you," to Sam, I felt it was a little out of character. I also really enjoyed how you showed a side of Sam that isn't really in the Twilight books. He seemed compassionate here and caring, yet his logic overruled that. He just wants Bella to stay safe. :)

Well done. Very insightful. I knew that Sam forbade Jake to see Bella for her physical safety, but it never occured to me that he also did it to protect her emotionally because Jake hadn't imprinted on her. Excellent insight. And very well written.

I liked it. Through this, I had a realization, oddly enough, about Leah. And, of course, something hit me that I have to go deal with right now... But, yeah, I liked it.
