I think this is a very possible way for Ranma to end up. Take a look at how he reacted to Akanes 2 'deaths' in the last story-arc of the Manga. I believe that he could go insane from this.

Absolutely incredible. I had to read it twice; I couldn’t believe how much it moved me. It reminded me a lot of Flowers for Algernon, a firsthand view of the demise of the main character. I would like to see more of your fics like this.
