A touching yet entertaining story about Slappy and Skippy... its hard to think about her as an affective lady, but you combined perfectly her nice side with her trademark crankiness.

The being hit by cars part was a bit disturbing (not that I can say that I'm not disturbing myself) but you conveyed Slappy's feelings about Skippy without getting sappy, and Skippy's encounter with Walter was well-written and funny.

Very interesting story. I have to admit the beginning did not thrill me. Not sure what type of world your story is set in where toons can get killed by cars. Regardless... interesting idea about animal naming and such. You got Slappy down pretty darn good I think, except for the excessive swearing-I think that was a bit beyond her. Nice, simple, solid story.
