Tragic warrior 11/23/11 . chapter 1I wonder how Nani and the others will react, especially since Lilo didn't get to tell them in their dreams. I wonder what she died of. Any way. nice job. One piece of advice; use more periods. |
RainHowls 7/23/11 . chapter 1 Wow... this was...
Unbelievably inspiring.
The descriptiveness you used- the expressions, descriptions, emotions... It was all so amazing!
The story had so much meaning behind it, it really was an amazing read. I can't even explain how grateful I am to have come by this. It was really beautiful.
Amazing work

Kitten630 1/23/09 . chapter 1You've left me with tears in my eyes. Tears staining my brand new top. And tears flooding the entire house! But apart from that, good story! A bit depressing, and it brought back a deadly childhood memory(I saw the reaper just before my great grandpa died, I don't wanna write about it)and as I said, um, wrote, I used up a LOT of tissues.
Keep writing. I think you should make another chapter, when Lilo's in heaven and meets her parents. They give her a chance to live again, Lilo accepts the chance, and awakens just as her coffin is about to go into the ground, but Stitch gets her out, big whoopdy doo! But that's my idea. you do what you want. |
DDX Delta 7/2/08 . chapter 1That. Was. Freaky!
Sorry 'bout taking so long to get to this, been busy and stuff. |
ProDG 6/24/08 . chapter 1Really good story! I don't think I've ever read any of your work, but I enjoyed this and will be checking for you from now on. I've been reading a lot now about how the authors in the L&S section all seem to be depressed lately. It's kinda comforting since I thought I was the only one going through that, but its also quite surprising.
What do you suppose could be the cause to all this? |
MisRcyLoe 6/24/08 . chapter 1I've been reading some of the reviews that told me I was going to love this story, and when I read it, they couldn't be more right. And to see it was dedicated to me for all my hard times I'm just so honored that one of my favorite authors for a long time now wrote a one shot for me. I can't thank you enough for this terrific story. Sure it had some mistakes in it, but not only do you give us a valid reason for it, but the feelings provoked in this little piece squashes bad grammar. I loved everything about it, but one thing I like to point out is why did she die? Why was it REALLY her time? She could've at least been sick or so depressed that she just had to leave. Dying unexpectedly, well, that could've been handled a little better.
Still though, this story for sure is going directly to my favorite's list. Thank you so much for this wonderful piece of work! Looking forward to more!
AFN!

Stitchfan 82 6/24/08 . chapter 1Hay hamishwarfare glad your back.
This was well dun but
man it was depressing!
Depression would seem to be
a common thing among L&S fans.
But are we L&S Fans because we are Depressed?
Or are we Depressed because we are L&S fans?
Lets hope it is the first one.
I hope to see more from you.
PS
I am working on something new but have know idea when it will be dun. |
Near-sighted Jedi 6/24/08 . chapter 1You probably won't believe me, but I've actually seen the Grim Reaper. He appeared to me when I was really young; can't remember why. I think it was to tell me someone in my family had died. I couldn't see his face, just darkness.
Speaking of death, how did Lilo die, and what from? |
ReaderPal 6/24/08 . chapter 1Hamishwarfare... I'm SO happy that you have posted something on this site. As a hardcore fan of your stories I beg of you... please continue your fanfic 'the Underdogs'. |
VoxAdam 6/24/08 . chapter 1 To put it bluntly: this is enough to make anyone's throat hurt.
Your version of the Grim Reaper seems inspired by the one from Terry Pratchett's DISCWORLD series; have you been reading that lately?
After reading this, it occured to me that the Silver Age of L&S fanfiction... hang on, before going into that, let me explain. The term "Golden Age" is one sometimes used by 123qaz in reference to when the series was at its peak, back in 2002-2007. But "Golden Age" also refers to a time which the ancient Greeks saw as, well, the best age on Earth, or at least the age when things were at their peak. But the first humans who inhabited this time, though powerful and seemingly perfect beings, grew arrogant, and the Gods chose to weaken them, beginning a period known as "Silver Age". The Silver Age was not as good or fruitful as the Golden Age, but it was with its advantages. After that, there was a succesion of periods until the Earth became as it is now. Interested by 123qaz's references to the first Age, and seeing how there are still many good new fics on this site, I decided to come up with the idea of Silver.
I am not an expert on this whole section like qaz is, but I keep track of the latest submissions. And I notice that the mood has considerably darkened since the earlier fanfics.
I have not read many of your other fics, but I have seen many of your reviews on other author's stories. This is a good, moving and eerie fic. And I'm sure MisGelRcy will love it.
But there seems to be a certain cynicism in L&S fanfiction which wasn't there before- you just need to take a look at the fics from the past twelve months to realise that. Back in the "Golden Age", most authors wrote their stories in a poignant manner close to the style of the original movie. Even tragic fics felt as if they had a certain payoff. An example of that is MisGel's "His Choice" (not to be confused with the better-known "His Conundrum"), which is not her best-known work but one of my favourite oneshots. In that story (SPOILERS), Stitch is given the choice between saving either Lilo or Angel, the unchosen being the one to die. Unfortunately, his incapacity to decide before the countdown ends means that both girls die. In the final scene, set before their funeral, a broken Stitch stares at a picture where he and the two most important people in his life are standing together peacefully. Unable to cope, he makes a decision. The last words of the story read: "Meega see you tonight". It's very sad, but one feels comforted by the fact he won't be seperated from them for long. I usually see suicide as a sin, but in this case... it feels RIGHT. (SPOILERS END)
And that's just it- in the old fics, even tragic events which had no happy ending felt RIGHT. In these newer fics, one can appreciate the quality of the story, but there is a certain loss when it comes to tragedy. Tragedy feels harsh and biting rather than poetic.
That said, I still enjoy reading tragedy like I enjoy reading the other forms of narrative. But the Silver Age of L&S fanfiction seems set to be one where darkness is not just a plot device, it's a mood.
It's good to see another of the old authors back. |
Cydra 6/24/08 . chapter 1I guess that was a good story, even it was rather gloomy and morbid. The thing that bothers me with Grim Reaper stories is that never say why a person has to die. They just come in and say, "Your time has come." Anyways, glad to hear you'll be writing more often, even if it's one-off's. Hope to hear more from you, but hopefully of a more cheery nature. |
anonymous 6/24/08 . chapter 1 WOW that was scary. I hope MisGelRcy likes it. Hope we see more of you soon. |
 123qaz 6/24/08 . chapter 1Aloha!
Nice to see you here again hamishwarfare. You have been absent for long and it is A VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE to see you again. It is good to see that older L&S authors returning to this section. Maybe it actually is time for "Silver Age" of L&S fanfiction.
This was a very nice oneshot. Maybe a little creepy but still very enjoyable. I wonder if you have ever read the works of great Edgar Allan Poe? Your fic has this same creepy and mystical feeling he had in his short stories. This might be a bit unorthodox story to be dedicated to anyone but I still believe that she appreciates it.
Anyway I hope she gets better soon. You wouldn't even believe how many L&S authors have been deppressed lately. Depression is a difficult thing to live with. I would still suggest you to write something more. You are a talented author and you were once very well known on this section. The new generation of L&S authors barely knows who you are or what you have written. I think that many would appreciate it if you would write something more. This was just a friendly suggestion, nothing more or nothing less.
Thank you from a nice oneshot.
I wish you good luck.
