Finally got the time to read this, and now, ironically, all I can say that truly grasps how I feel about this story is "I'm bowled out." Knocked for a six, gobsmacked, jaw-dropped... For some irksome reason my vocabulary is not large enough to go any further. I have never - not in over four years of Negima fandom - read a piece centering around Eva that is as flabbergasting as this one. I know almost each song used here - please forgive that the same does NOT go for the artists - and I must say they fit with the themes rather well. Must say 'Another One Bites The Dust' brought an almost sickeningly coy smile to my face - that was GOLD. Just one question: I see a song title here is 'The Noose'. Would that be the one done by A Perfect Circle, or The Offspring? I'm eager to know - songs can give meaning to ficlets, and I'm currently working on a collection of such musics.

Okay, now I'm officially empty :( My mind simply cannot comprehend anything else to say about this fic, as it deserves much more than I'm able to say. This is, however, going directly into my favorites - this is sum good stuff... It actually just got me to lift my lazy butt and get cracking on my own Negima ficlets. Kudos to you for that... You're the first.

Well, what more is there for me to say? I certainly cannot rate this - this is too Awesome for ratings and scorings. I can, however, say that you've outdone yourself here, and I wish you the best of luck with Egg Belly. Brilliant chapter, I think this qualifies as a Story For The Gods...

How excellent! Surely others have given a thought to Evangeline's backstory? Over half a millenium of history locked in her mind, stuck as a child. This quick little glimpse is tantalizing to what might have been.

An immortal, a high-daylight walker. What will the future beyond Negima hold for Eva?

It's sad to think that she's become this cold, eternal child. Hopefully there will be love for her...

I love that you did this. It's a fantastic look into Evangeline's past (which is something I wish the manga would do a bit more of, though that's unlikely). She's the perfect example of what every vamp should be in my opinion, complex but still monstrous in her own right. You did an awesome job capturing her here. _

A magnificant Story that manages to take an extremly good grasp on Eva wh, i think is probably the most complicated character in Mahou Sensei Negima.

Writing Evangeline and especially her past is a truly difficult thing to do one that I think you managed to do extremely well

I love the ability you have to write simple lines that just grab your heartstrings and give'em a good yank.

"Play Dead" was one of those for me from this one.

For all of my silly declarations about how the yuri horde is so horrifying, I think that you put them in an interesting enough perspective.

As for this story, Eva's morbid past is always a fascinating thing to observe. Even if the people's ignorance spells their own doom, the horrifying weight of her past evils still hang in the air.

And as for you, I think you can finally go on my favorites list.

That was entirely different from Eggbelly but just as well-written. It was strangely beautiful, I think and does a good job setting the stage for what we know of Evangeline.

I, too, find Evangeline a most fascinating character. I truly enjoyed reading your take on her life and all the events that led up to what made her who she was. Very dark, very morbid - I think the part with the toymaker was the best part - and overall very, very interesting. I love your turn of phrases, like when you mention child's blood is too sweet to her bitter palette.

I have to agree, Evangeline is a pretty interesting character, I was always wondering how she turned into a vampire, and this was an awesome story !

Hey, nice work there Cloverfield! Good interpretation of Evangeline's past. Really dark, bitter and bloody and it's certainly a plausible possibility. Her observation of the multiple deaths was an interesting view of what happened in different time period. Eva's own thoughts mixed with her environment was an interesting approach. What happened to Eva's previous master was slightly vague (had the idea that he was killed but is it without any consequence?). And why in the end she wasn't burned by the sun? Because she consumed mages' blood? Maybe I missed something. Anyhoo, this one's an interesting story. Keep on writing (while waiting for the next part of Egg Belly) :)

When I first clicked on your story, I was a little doubtful when it mentioned song titles. I thought it might be one of those fics that are half made of song lyrics, but I noticed that you also write Egg Belly. I decided to give it a read, and I'm glad I read it. Another well written fic. Great job!

Evangeline is one of my favourite characters, so I was pretty ecstatic when I saw that one of my favourite authors had written a fic on her. I have not been disappointed either. Well-written and very interesting. Nice work.
