I'm catching up with my reading and have just read Chapters 1-19 straight off and it went at a pace!First of all I want to go to Lake Louise it sounds beautiful!The characters, even the minor ones, were finely drawn and it was all very visual with the descriptions.I have always liked the Allie character and it was nice to again see the relationship between Allie and Spencer working and show the maturity that had grown over the stories they , you have it right...near misses with death really concentrate the mind when it comes to relationships. As a mother I've seen too many parents with daughters like Megan..those the scenes between the family and then with Megan herself complaining about Reid reading her journal were very believable.(Unfortunately there are too many brats, both boys and girls, around that difficult 15-18 age group!)I liked the honesty and maturity that Spencer showed when he talked about drugs, PTSD and the job...in ch 19. But there has been a lovely thread of humour throughout that has balanced some of the more serious parts of this story. I think Garcia is right...he needs a collar and leash! But it was nice to see Allie's expertise being used aswell. Lovely story so far.

That was hard for Spencer to open up like that to Grant. But the mountie took it well and was actually, well, rather HUMAN about it. Glad to see he had it in him. It also gave the man a chance to realize just how strong a person Spencer is.

I loved it when Allie came back, the casual joking that Spencer can now enjoy. No one deserves that more.

I'm glad that Reid confided in Grant. Despite the differences from the beginning, it looks like there is a great friendship in the making here.

I laughed at Reid describing the confusion he felt on the Raid, whether or not to say FBI or RCMP or nothing at all. That would be a strange position to be in.

“I may see you before then,” Reid reasoned. “I have to unload the car of all the stuff that Allie bought. I may be in the next room tonight with a hernia.” Grant laughed uproariously but this time did not start wheezing while Allie slapped Reid playfully on the shoulder.

Hehehe... Poor sweet man, get used to it, you're getting married!

I am glad that you were able to tell Grant what happened Ried

I particularly like this line

""My team has been great even though I was a total pain in the ass for a while and Allie, what can I say about Allie, that woman loves me in spite of it all.""

because it is so true so true.

How sweet of Reid to share something so personal and private to help Grant. It was so funny when Reid talked about yelling FBI and RCMP. I loved that line. I just knew that Allie was matchmaking with Melanie for Grant. Love this story. Can't wait for the next chapter but I do hate to see them leave there. Will we hear any more from the family they helped and how they are doing?

That's the best explanation of what happened to Reid that I've heard (read).

You have captured his situation well, with so much depth and so realistically. Well done!

Poor Spencer! He is already discovering the hard part of being a husband...Standing by while the wife shops. Hope the BAU isn't too annoyed that Spencer told the Mounties before he told them. But the gifts she picked out was perfect. Besides, the best gift she can give Evan is a big sister. Or better yet, make him an uncle.

So...is Spencer gonna tell Grant?

Oh, that's a loaded question. I wonder what Reid will tell him.

I love the gifts Allie picked out. She knows the team members very well, and the gift for his mom was so sweet.

"I want to do something nice for her, just to kind of say thank you because she gave you to the world and you’re everything to me."

That's so sweet. I'm not a sentimental person but even I agree with her!

The gifts sound perfect,especially the throw for Reid's mother,they chose well as the influence of colours can be seen in most shops :o)

Melanie visiting Grant was nice and I think things will go well for them. My mother said the same thing about morphine when she was in hospital but it was a joke (I hope!) but Grant noticed Reid and Allie's reaction and now is asking pertinent questions. Poor Reid just keeps getting reminded of his past :o(

Great chapter as usual :oD

I just love his story. Parts are so much fun and others are more serious. I am so glad Melanie came to see Grant dressed in regular clothes and not as a nurse. Reid is going to help Grant to become a better man. I love that Allie is getting attention wit her ring. I just can't wait for more.

“It sends you on a nice little trip. I can see how people can get hooked on that stuff.” Allie and Reid exchanged a look. “What,” Grant said, looking between them, “Did I say something wrong?”

Poor Reid, he just can't get away from the whole Dilaudid mess, can he? His explanation to Grant will prove to be interesting, I'm sure.

The quilt discussion in the shop between Reid and Allie was sweet. It says so much about the person Allie is that she wants to get Reid's mother something special, even if Diana may never truly know who she is or what she's done. I think Reid has definitely found a "keeper." Can't wait to see how Reid gets himself out of his dilemma with Grant. Good chapter!

I like all the choices of gifts for the team and Reid mom. Very appropriate for them all. I like that Allie wanted to get something for Dianna. It was a very sweet idea.

Now... It looks like Grant maybe getting somewhere with Melanie. I'm with him though, what was that look between Reid and Allie.

I repeat my sentiment from earlier reviews:

1) Allie is a very lucky woman

2) Spencer Reid is majorly hot, smoking, example of manhood at it's best.

3) Megan is a whiny little brat who should grow up and stop blaming the world for not "being fair". Wake up kid. Life ain't fair and you were lucky to have people who would do anything to protect you. But NO.

And I loved Spencer's parting shot. As the mother of a 'tween, I am not looking forward to the yeards to come. But I still would love to see Spencer with a little girl.

Gah, teenagers! I can only imagine how Reid will feel with his own.

I love that Reid asked her father and I really love their "time-filling" activities! ;)
