Lovely story and another great insight into Eiri’s mind! I love the way that you showed that his impatience and dismay at the constant ‘whys’ thrown his way are because he doesn’t have the answers himself. His own actions baffle himself, so he is unable to explain them to anyone else. And his (attempted) denial of his growing involvement with Shu and his crowd is a hoot, especially when we all know he can’t help but get involved eventually!

You also do a great job showing that Shu is not some dimwit whiny crybaby as he is so often portrayed in fanfic. Shu is not only a lot smarter than most give him credit for, he also has a backbone and usually doesn’t take too much crap from Eiri without fighting back. So many authors seem to forget that. I have always felt that it is that very backbone that keeps Eiri intrigued, since both the manga and the anime show that when he pushes Shu too far and Shu fights back, he does back down.

Now, your A/N indicated I have missed one of your stories. I am off to enjoy that one!

I keep saying this but I just love how you get in Yuki's head.

And even more, in this story, the way you write Shuichi's emotions really grabbed me. The "remote, weary tone" in his voice when he started to get off the bed totally twisted my heart, got me right in the gut.

It's always a delight to read Shuichi getting angry and blasting Yuki, and I love how you handled it and Yuki's reaction to it.

Magical. You've really got talent and this story was pure beauty through and through. Eiri's character was perfect, I could imagine his gruff voice like I was watching it straight from an anime. Shuichi's troubles, his attitude, certainly not over the top like other fanfics, but perfectly hyper and overreacting and just... Shuichi.

You've created a wonderful, magical, beautiful piece here! You should be very proud of it.

LOL! Yuki's reaction was priceless, and the last line was just LOVE. I like your reasoning of Yuki's indifferent beahaviour as a backlash to his 'coming out'. This method for self-preservation really suits his, dare I say, cowardly tendencies.

I simply love how you can take a scene from the anime and/or manga and expound upon it enough to form such great stories... be they one-shots such as this, or multi-chapter. Whenever I read one of them, I get the feeling that I'm being given the neglected 'backstory' for the anime and manga. Well done, as always... and keep them coming!
