Hey, great story! I love the hippie era, and the music! I wouldn't be too crazy about the hot coals myself. Janis Joplin isn't really my trip, to be honest - but I like bands like Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Electric Prunes, and Moby Grape. Also, yeah, the colourful clothes! That's what I love.

I really do think Doc is being too hard on Verne, though. I think he should lighten up on that poor kid. It's bad enough that they forgot his birthday. Granted, they made it up the next day - but they should've been much more understanding of why he took off like that.

Otherwise, I really enjoy your stories. I just feel so sorry for Verne, though - I guess, because I can sort of relate.
